摘要： An injection molding apparatus including a plurality of hot runner injection nozzles, each injection nozzle having a respective valve gate through which melt is injected into a mold cavity; a first plate disposed substantially perpendicular to the injection nozzles; a plurality of valve stems extending from a first surface of the first plate, each valve stem positioned in vertical alignment with a respective injection nozzle; a first actuator for moving the first plate bi-directionally along a first axis to cause at least one of the plurality of valve stems to move in a respective injection nozzle between an open position permitting flow of melt through a valve gate and a closed position blocking flow of melt; at least one plate position limiter limiting movement of the first plate relative to the injection nozzles; and a first drive controlling the at least one plate position limiter independently of the first actuator.

One of the valve stem and the moveable member is a male coupling portion and the other of the valve stem and moveable member is the female coupling portion. The male coupling portion is nested within the female coupling portion. A retaining pin retains the male coupling portion with respect to the female coupling portion.

An apparatus for dispensing melted molding material from a plurality of valve-gated drops may include a plurality of valve stems, each reciprocable, by a reciprocating member, between an open dispensing position and a closed non-dispensing position. Each valve stem may be biased against the reciprocating member. Each valve stem may have an associated adjustable stop for adjustably limiting a range of motion of the valve stem in the bias direction and thereby setting the open position for the valve stem independently of the closed position for the valve stem and independently of the open position of any other valve stem.

摘要： Injection-molding nozzles having any one or more of improved heat transfer, wear resistance, and melt transfer from a manifold to a mold. The operation and durability of a nozzle can be improved by integrally layering multiple materials to create a multi-property nozzle that is a unitary, monolithic, and seamless structure. For example, the heat transfer properties of a nozzle is improved by integrally layering certain materials in the nozzle housing such that heat is more effectively dissipated or transferred throughout the nozzle to maintain and promote melt flow. One or more components of the nozzle can be merged and thus seamlessly formed to improve melt flow by reducing joints that would cause the melt to hang up within the nozzle and, concomitantly, reducing manufacturing and assembly time. The process used to unitarily form some or all of the nozzle may also be used to create complex geometric configurations therein.
