CONSTITUTION:A fuel pump device is formed of a pump part 3, a motor part 4 and a terminal holder part 5 disposed in a cylindrical housing 2. Fuel sucked from a suction port 10 by the rotation of an impeller 8, accommodated in a shallow circular recessed part 7 formed at the axial end face of the outer casing 6b of a pump casing 6, by the motor part 4 is discharged by the pump part 3 from a discharge opening 11 into the housing 2 and delivered outside through a fuel outlet pipe 21 with a built-in check valve 20. In this case, an air vent hole 32 piercing the outer casing 6b is provided at a part between the suction port 10 and the discharge opening 11. Vapor is therefore caught before reaching the suction port 10 and can be discharged outside a fuel pump 1.

Or relief grooves 22G, 23G are formed in the pump housing 22 and the pump cover 23, and most of the inflow of fuel into the recessed parts 22A, 23A is guided to a pump chamber 10 passing through the relief grooves 22G, 23G by rotating an impeller 9.

    • PURPOSE:To return a minimum necessary amount of fuel and to make a fuel supply equipment smaller, by controlling a rotational speed of a motor for driving a fuel pump in accordance with pressure in a fuel supply pipe and disposing a nozzle with an opening of a prescribed area in place of a fuel pressure regulator. CONSTITUTION:A portion connecting a fuel supply pipe 14 with a fuel return pipe 15 is provided with a nozzle with an opening of a prescribed area in place of a fuel pressure regulator. A pressure sensor 12 detects pressure in the fuel supply pipe 14. The pressure value detected is applied to a deflection calculator 13 to be compared with a target pressure value applied from a target value setting unit 17. The deflection calculator 13 calculates a rotational speed control signal in accordance with deflection of the detected pressure value to the target value and applies it to a variable frequency generator 18. This arrangement permits the variable frequency generator 18 to change output frequency it generates with a result that a drive motor 20 changes its rotational speed and a fuel pump 2 changes its discharge.
