摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for improving the capacity of lubrication between a rolled stock and work rolls in a hot rolling equipment provided with a hot rolling mill whose work rolls are not crossed. SOLUTION: This hot rolling equipment is provided with nozzles 5La, 5Lb, 5Ua, 5Ub for jetting cooling water on the work rolls 1U, 1L, storage tank 6, nozzles 8L, 8U for jetting a lubricant, conduits 9, 11, pump 10 and switching valves 7a, 7b for conducting the lubricant to these nozzles, covers 12L, 12U and seal tips 13L, 13U for recovering excess lubricant, conduits 14, 16, 18 and pump 15 for returning the recovered lubricant to the tank 6, conduits 19, 21 for supplying the original liquid and diluent of the lubricant into the tank 6, switching valves 20, 22 for adjusting these feed rates, concentration meter 23 for detecting the concentration of the original liquid of the lubricant which amounts in the lubricant and controller 24 for controlling the movement of the switching valves in accordance with this detected result.

CONSTITUTION: The roll chock 1 for supporting the roll is supported with hydraulic cylinders 2a, 2b on the inlet and outlet sides of the rolled stock and the push side port 2c of the hydraulic cylinder 2a and the secondary port 4c of a closed center type four-direction selector valve 4, and the push side port 2d of the hydraulic cylinder 2b and the secondary side 4d of the direction selector valve 4 are respectively connected. The oil pressure added to the hydraulic cylinders 2a, 2b is adjusted in accordance with the rolling state with the direction selector valve 4 and the position of the roll chock 1 is controlled.

Consequently, at the time of rearrangement, the supporting device keeps initial preset length, and the roll can be rearranged while integrating upper and lower roll assemblies with each other in a state a gap is provided between upper and lower work rolls 10a and 10b. At the time of rolling, a distance between the upper and lower work rolls can be changed in accordance with a rolling reduction by a sliding structure between the upper surface part of the lower roll chock and the upper supporting rod and the elastic deformation of the supporting device, the upper and lower work rolls can be shifted in axial direction, and the work roll cross rolling can be performed.

The conditions where the thrust becomes excessive or troubles such as the breakage of a roll bearing are generated can be prevented, and the appropriate lubricating performance free from the vibration or slip can be obtained.

摘要： A lubricant is supplied from headers (38) of lubricant supply units (5) onto surfaces of back-up rolls (3) at locations spaced from contact positions between a pair of work rolls (2) and a pair of back-up rolls (3). The headers (38) each include a lubricant spray nozzle (41) for spraying the lubricant under a pressure not lower than 3 kg/cm , a header cover (42) for confining the lubricant sprayed from the lubricant spray nozzle (41), an oil return line (44) for returning the surplus lubricant, and seal members (43) made of flexible material such as rubber. The work rolls (2) are provided with water wiping plates (6), and the back-up rolls (3) are also provided with water wiping plates (7). In a work rolls crossing type mill thus arranged, water films of cooling water deposited on the roll surfaces are removed to prevent the cooling water from mixing into the lubricant. Even if the water films are not totally removed, it is possible to surely plate out the lubricant for reliably lubricating between the work rolls (2) and the back-up rolls (3). Raw lubricant oil of the lubricant meets the following requirements; (a) the coefficient of friction between said work rolls (2) and said back-up rolls (3) is in the range of 0.04 to 0.1, (b) the viscosity is not larger than 80 Cst. at 40 DEG C, (c) mineral oil and synthetic ester not less than 5 % are contained as base oil, (d) a fatty acid in the range of 0.03 to 0.5 % is contained as an oiliness enhancer, (e) an extreme pressure additive not less than 0.1 % is contained, and preferably, (f) a surface active agent not larger than 0.5 % is contained as emulsifier.

摘要： A rolling mill for rolling metal strip (11) moving in a horizontal rolling direction, has work rolls (1) which engage the strip and are supported vertically by backup rolls (2) through which drive is applied. The work rolls (1) are supported in the horizontal rolling direction by support rollers (4) contacting them at locations confined to intermediate regions between the work regions and bearings (8). The work rolls are shiftable in the horizontal rolling direction. To provide control of the horizontal forces during rolling, there are position control means (5,7) for the support rollers operable to move and locate the support rollers so as to shift the work rolls (1) to a predetermined location at which the vertical axial plane of the work rolls (1) is offset in the horizontal rolling direction from the vertical axial plane of the backup rolls (2). The support rollers (4) maintain the work rolls at the predetermined location during rolling.

A lubricant supply device (1) is provided for supplying a lubricant between each work roll and each back-up roll to greatly reduce the thrust exerted to the work rolls, whereby the rolling mill is given an excellent ability of controlling the crown of the material to be rolled.
