    • PURPOSE:To allow a simple exposure system to make image pickup of a moving picture compatible with image pickup of a still picture by sweeping out a charge after the start of aperture closing. CONSTITUTION:In the image pickup device provided with an image pickup element 3 applying photoelectric conversion to an incident optical image, an electronic shutter control means 6 controlling a charge storage time by sweeping out the charge of photoelectric conversion in the image pickup element 3, and an aperture 2 limiting the incident luminous quantity to the image pickup element 3 and making image pickup of a still picture available by closing the aperture 2, the charge is swept out after the start of closing operation of the aperture 2. That is, the aperture 2 is kept open or at a position in the vicinity of opening for the exposure control of image pickup of a moving picture and the electronic shutter is used for exposure control. When a still picture pickup instruction is commanded, since the electronic shutter speed is updated in interlocking with the closing aperture, the still picture is picked up in a short exposure time. Thus, the image pickup device making the image pickup of a moving picture compatible with that of a still picture is realized inexpensively with a small size by using a differentiation control type aperture used for a general-purpose video camera.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image at a normal position by recognizing and recording a relation between a horizontal direction and a gravity direction of an image pickup element at image pickup so as to conduct proper image rotation and scanning line number change processing in the case of display on a TV monitor. SOLUTION: An image pickup element 103 usually outputs an NTSC dynamic image to a liquid crystal view finder via an A/D converter 105 and a video signal processing 106. When a video recording button 112 is depressed, an output signal of the image pickup element 103 for a prescribed exposure time is once recorded in a buffer memory 107 via the A/D converter 105 and then again recorded in the buffer memory 107 via the video signal processing 106. Then the signal is recorded in a main memory 109 via an image compression 108 as, e.g. JPEG compression image data. A gravity sensor 111 consisting of a mercury switch records information for longitudinal and lateral positions with respect to the gravity direction from the image pickup element 103 to the main memory 109 when the video recording button 112 is depressed. In the case of processing of the image compander 108, the longitudinal and lateral position information is referred for the companding processing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display image with different zooming ratios in the horizontal and vertical directions. SOLUTION: When a zooming ratio β1 /α1 in the vertical direction and the zooming ratio β2 /α2 in the horizontal direction are set for a control circuit 107, these are supplied to an image-processing circuit 108, and a magnification interpolation processing is performed to a video signal from a digital signal processing circuit 104 with the zooming ratio β1 /α1 in the vertical direction and the zooming ratio β2 /α2 in the horizontal direction respectively. In addition, a vertical direction reading starting address 901 is supplied from the control circuit 107 to a sensor drive circuit 106, a reading starting line at a sensor light-receiving surface 903 is selected, and in addition, a horizontal direction reading starting address 902 is supplied to the image-processing circuit 108 and data of start of magnification interpolation in the horizontal direction are selected. Consequently, a video is obtained by performing the magnification interpolation to the video in an area of an optional position of the sensor light- receiving surface 903 with the zooming ratio β1 /α1 in the vertical direction and the zooming ratio β2 /α2 in the horizontal direction respectively.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To vary the position of a reading area at a sensor light-receiving surface at the time of zooming. SOLUTION: When a zooming ratio β/α=2 times is set at present for a control circuit 107, a sensor (image-pickup part) 101 is driven by a sensor drive circuit 106 and areas shown by a first and a second illustrations on (b) according to the zooming ratio of the sensor light-receiving surface 903 of the sensor 101 are read by the sensor 101. A vertical direction reading starting address 901 is supplied to the sensor drive circuit 106 from a control circuit 107, and a starting position of the reading area in vertical direction at the sensor light- receiving surface 903 is decided. A magnification interpolation is performed, according to data 111 with the zooming rate of β/α from the control circuit 107 in an image-processing circuit 108 by an output signal of the sensor 101. The magnification interpolation is performed from a position according to a horizontal direction reading starting address 902 from the control circuit 107. Each title screen is varied as the first and the second illustrations on (a) and (b) by varying the horizontal direction reading starting address 902 as x1 , x2 and varying the vertical direction reading starting address 901 as y1 , y2 .
