The zinc concentration in the condensate filter 7 outlet water is raised by precoating particles containing zinc in the filtering surface of processed water inlet side of the condensate filter 7. Part of condensate water flow passing the condensate filter 7 is bypassed with a condensate filter bypass valve and a bypass pipe 25, iron concentration in condensate filter 7 outlet water is increased and zinc is supplied to the reactor 1.

The ferrite film thus formed can inhibit radionuclides from adhering to the surface of the metallic component.

SOLUTION: This boiling water nuclear power plant, where the concentration of iron during a supply of water is set at 0.1ppb or lower, is so constituted that hydrogen can be poured. It is also preferable that the concentration of iron during the supply of water is set at 0.05ppb or lower. In a plant which operated in a condition where the concentration of iron during the supply of water was 0.1ppb or higher, moreover, the concentration of iron during the supply of water is lowered after removing iron and chromium accumulating in a reactor by conducting the chemical decontamination for all systems and, at the same time, the pouring of hydrogen is allowed to start. This shortens the residence time of cobalt on fuel rods and makes it possible to restrain the generation of cobalt 60.

摘要： PURPOSE:To allow efficient reduction of radioactivity in reactor water even if fuel rods, to which metal ions scarcely adhere, are loaded by accelerating adhesion of crud to a newly loaded fuel and stopping the adhering operation of clad when a predetermined target adhesion is reached. CONSTITUTION:When a pressure vessel 10 of reactor is loaded with a new Zr liner fuel 13 and the operation is started, an electrolytic iron injector 14 is operated simultaneously to produce iron crud. Electrolytic iron is injected 15 into supply water while sustaining the injection concentration at 2ppb and the injection is stopped when the total quantity of iron reaches 5X10 g/cm the sum of surface area of all newly loaded fuel rods. Furthermore, an anion-exchange resin in a desalting condenser 5 is partially rendered to Na type and the condensate is passed. The pH of supply water is then increased to 7-9 and the operation is sustained for a while even after the injection of iron crud is interrupted. Water supply to a resin tower is then stopped and switching is made to other resin tower and a cycle of operation is ended while lowering the pH below 7. Consequently, metal ions adhere well to the fuel and the radioactivity in the reactor water is reduced.
