As a result, since side wall 10a is formed higher, it cuts off the electron beam that arrives at a phosphor screen 13a passing through the support frame 10 and bulbs 13 and 15 and is also provided with an effect that screens the effect of an external magnetic field. In other words, the side wall 10a has the outside electron shield and inner shield characteristics. In addition, since the bottom 10b is widely formed, the same effect as the inside electron shield can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To fix a contact spring in a cathode-ray tube only by means of the spring force instead of welding process by making the cathode-ray tube consist of a press contact section that is connected to an engagement section and makes press-contact with a frame side wall and a connection section that connects this press contact section to a shaping section. CONSTITUTION:Figure (a) shows the status where a spring is mounted before a funnel 2 is fit. A contact spring 1 is mounted on a frame 3 by engaging the engagement section 1b of the contact spring 1 with the intra-flange end of the frame 3 and pressing the spring 1 in the direction of an arrow (A). Besides, when a force is applied from the direction of an arrow (B) in this state, the contact spring 1 can easily be removed from the frame 3. Figure (b) shows the status where the funnel 2 is fit. The press contact section 1C of the contact spring 1 is pressed on the side of the frame 3 by the force shown by the direction of an arrow (C) from the funnel 2 and the contact spring 1 will not be slipped off from the frame 3.

    • PURPOSE:To enable a lead protector for a cathode-ray tube to be easily and reliably attached to the lead section by allowing a gap between the convex section and the end of the focus outer pin when the convex section is inserted into the base barrier and forming a concave area in the center of the convex section. CONSTITUTION:A lead protector 20 has a fan-shaped convex section 21 which can be inserted into a barrier 7. When the convex section 21 is inserted into the barrier 7, a gap of several milimeters is formed between the end of a focus outer pin 6 and the top surface of the convex section 21. And, the connection area between the convex section 21 and the barrier 7 has a length of 3-5mm.. Besides, a concave area 22 is formed in the center of the convex section 21. Because of the above structure, the lead protector 20 can be very easily attached to a cathode-ray tube 2. Furthermore, since the convex section 21 is inserted into the fan-shaped barrier 7 by 3-5mm., the lead protector 20 is reliably attached to the base 1 and any mis-insertion of the convex section 21 is prevented.
