    • PURPOSE:To prevent the quality of transmission data from deteriorating due to multi-pass fading by providing a shield plate to suppress a ground-reflected wave in the periphery of a simplex radiant element resonant with a communication frequency, and adjusting radiant directivity. CONSTITUTION:This antenna is comprised of the radiant element 1, a feeder part 2, a ground plate 3, the shield plate 4, a short-circuited plate 5, a case 6, and a feed cable 7. The shield plate 4 is a conductor plate which shields a reflected wave from the ground, and is connected to the periphery of the ground plate 3. The wavelength of a quasi-microwave is short compared with that of a VHF wave or a UHF wave, therefore, it is provided with high rectilinear propagation property, and since the antenna height of an on-vehicle antenna is low, it receives the high influence of the reflected wave from the ground, i.e., a road. Therefore, the influence of the ground-reflected wave is reduced by providing the shield plate 4 and directing the radiant directivity of the on- vehicle antenna upward. Thereby, it is possible to reduce the influence of the multi-pass fading due to the ground-reflected wave, and to stably secure transmission quality with simple structure.

    • PURPOSE:To receive the data provided by a road distance-between-cars data system without diverting driver's attention from driving by providing the data along with speech and music. CONSTITUTION:The data transmitted from a road beacon machine is received by a receiver 2 through an on-vehicle antenna 1 and processed by a controller 3. The sound source controller 9 of a sound source unit 5 is controlled on the basis of the processed data. A speech generator 10 has PCM data such as speech therein and is controlled by the controller 9 to give a broadcast in the form of speech about the data (destination direction, place name) received by the receiver 2. A sound source generator 11 has melody data such as a synthetic sound source therein and is controlled by the controller 9 to allow the music corresponding to the data of every kind received by the receiver 2 to flow along with speech from a speaker 6 or an on-vehicle stereoscopic device 7. A driver can discriminate between various data received by the receiver 2 on the basis of musics and can confirm data provided as a stereoscopic image in combination with a display device 4.
