    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the assembly and disassembly of component elements and prevent leakage of heat and air by a method wherein an indoor casing, drip pan, mouth ring, evaporator lid and cold air discharging duct are removably arranged and divided in a vertical direction and formed of synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:On a base 1 are mounted a drip pan and a casing 13 integrally formed with a lower half mouth ring and a lower half casing by synthetic resin, and then another casing 14 having integrally formed with an upper half mouth ring, upper half casing and evaporator lid in a similar manner as above is assembled on the former casing. A casing 15 integrally formed with synthetic resin is mounted on the casing 14 in such a manner as the inner surface of the cabinet 1 is covered by the upper part of the casing and then screwed to a partition wall 19 with a band 16 by screws 20. The evaporator is held and fixed among the projections 13a to 13c and 14a to 14c. The casings 13 and 14 are abutted to each other with the inverted right and left projections. Thereby, it is possible to improve a sealing characteristic and facilitate the assembly and disassembly of the component elements.

CONSTITUTION:A solenoid valve 32b of a branch control device 33 connected to an indoor heat exchanger 30b of au indoor device 31b to be stopped during a cooling operation is closed. Liquid refrigerant from an outdoor heat exchanger 23 is metered with a capillary tube 24 of a cooling throat device 20, its pressure is reduced and the refrigerant passes from the first connection port 35a of the branch device 34 through a check valve 29a, an indoor heat exchanger 30a, a solenoid valve 32a, a four-way valve 22 and an accumulator 57 and returns to a compressor 21. At this time, since the solenoid valve 32b is closed, the refrigerant is not flowed to the heat exchanger 30b of the indoor device 32b and further since the indoor heat exchanger is connected to a low pressure side through a capillary tube 28b, the liquid refrigerant may not be accumulated in the indoor heat exchanger 30b.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible for sure to splash the water condensate even under a high wind pressure by providing a water conduit which has its outlet section in a liquid tank at the lower section of a slinger ring and providing a flange round the outer circumference of the liquid tank. CONSTITUTION:The water condensate that is obtained from an indoor side heat exchanger flows in a water conduit 4, and it is supplied to a water tank 6 through a net 20 or many minute holes 21. The net 20 keeps dusts of relatively large diameters from entering the inside of the water conduit 4, and, further, even when the meshes of the net 20 are clogged, the water condensate is supplied to the water tank 6 through the minute holes 21 formed in the surface of the water conduit 4. When the water level in the water tank 6 becomes high, the water condensate is stirred by a slinger ring 5. During this stirring water drops attached to the end faces of the slinger ring 5 fly in water splashes through the space between the outdoor side heat exchanger 1 and a heat radiation cover 3, and part of the splashes evaporate to absorb the latent heat, thus heightening the capabilities of the heat exchanger to transfer heat. Furthermore, on the bottom face 10 of the liquid tank, many pleats 13 are formed to increase the frictional force between the water condensate and the bottom face 10 for reducing the amount of over-flow.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the operability of mounting work of a back grille by a method wherein the back grille of the air-conditioning machine is provided with an upper end part, bent to a configuration to hook it to the pipeline of a condenser, and a lower end part, inserted between the condensing section of the condenser and the base of the same so as to be contacted closely. CONSTITUTION:In the air-conditioning machine equipped with the grille 6 at the back surface thereof, the grille 6 is provided with the upper end part 6a, bent to a configuration to hook it to the pipeline 7 of the condenser 2, and the lower end part 6b, bent so as to become larger than a size between the condenser 2 and the base 1 and inserted into the space between the condenser 2 and the base 1 so as to be contacted with them closely. As a result, the mounting work of the back grille may be simplified and the structure of grille can be constituted so as to have good operability in mounting work. Further, the lower end part of the grille is bent so as to be inserted into the space between the condenser and the base closely, therefore, chattering sound may be prevented upon operating the air-conditioning machine.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the shortcircuiting between the suction air and the exhaust air on the outdoor side from occurring through a strucutre wherein a gap is provided between the exhaust outlet side of a condenser and a condenser cover to cover the condenser in an air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:A minute gap 10 with the magnitude giving no disturbance to the air supply to a condenser 2 is formed between a condenser cover 7 and the condenser 2. The outside air taken in through a suction port 8 provided at the back of an air conditioner enters in the condenser cover 7, is blasted against the condenser by means of an outdoor blower 4 for heat-exchanging and finally exhausted from an exhaust port 9. At this time, some portion of the outside air taken in the condenser cover 7 is exhausted throught he minute gap 10 at high air speed without being heat-exchanged. Because said outside air exhausted through the minute gap causes to develop the cleavage between the suction air and the heat-exchanged exhaust air, resulting in enabling to prevent the shortcircuiting or the phenomenon of sucking the heat-exchanged air again from occurring.

CONSTITUTION:An air conditioner 31 is operated such that a degree of opening of a flow controlling valve 35 in a heat exchanger 32 is increased by a stepping motor 35-1 to increase a flow rate of hot water in case that an actual room temperature is substantially low in respect to a predetermined temperature of a room temperature adjustor 40 in response to a preference of a user and then a flow rate of hot water is increased, a heating capability is increased and the room temperature can be approached rapidly to the predetermined temperature. In case that the room temperature reaches the predetermined temperature, a degree of opening of the flow rate controlling valve 25 is decreased, thereby a flow rate of the hot water is reduced to decrease the heating capability, resulting in that the room temperature is not so changed without substantially exceeding the predetermined temperature to perform a comfortable heating. When a flow rate of hot water in the heat exchanger 32 is controlled to be low, a rotational speed of a blower 37 is decreased and a temperature of hot blown air of the air conditioner 31 is not so decreased and a comfortable heating is assured.

CONSTITUTION:An engaging member 4d provided in an air flow direction grille 4 and an engaging member 5b provided in a screw shielding member 5 are pressed in while being subjected to elastic deformation when pressed in from the upper part. When engaged, the engaging members 4d and 5b are in face contact with each other so that they are mutually engaged with each other, and therefore, they do not moves, vertically. Further, by an engaging member 4c provided in the air flow direction grille 4 and an engaging member 5c provided in the screw shielding member 5, the engaging members 4d are 5b do not move in a direction where the engagement between the engaging members 4d and 5b is released. Further, by mounting a front cover on the front side of the air flow direction grille 4, the screw shielding member 5 is arranged not to move longitudinally. Thus, the workability at the time of fixing screws is improved, and by concealing the fixing screws 2 by the screw shielding members 5, the screws are not exposed to the outside.

    • PURPOSE:To keep the water level below the lower section of the vanes of a propeller fan lower than the propeller fan vane and prevent water splashing by providing a water splash stopping section which encircles the flow direction of condensed water. CONSTITUTION:A crank-shaped board 15a is spot-welded to the lower section of the cover 15 of a condenser so that it will contact the bottom face of a base 14. The board 15a shuts the condensed water in front of a propeller fan 16. The water level 17 of the condensed water on the left side of the board 15a is higher than the lowest point D of the vane 16a of the propeller fan 16, but the water level of the condensed water at the section which is surrounded by a condenser cover 15 and the board 15 stays lower than the lowest point D at a position below the lowest point D of the vane 16a, and draws a curve which gradually becomes higher along the direction of the rotation of the propeller fan 16. Accordingly water splashing by scooping up the condensed water by the vane 16a does not occur, and there is no need to install a water splash stopping board.
