    • PURPOSE:To execute a changing work at a high speed by taking out a cartridge from a reproducing part by a carrying part and carrying it temporarily to a temporary storage case, taking out the next cartridge from the storage case and installing it, at the time of changing the cartridge. CONSTITUTION:In a storage case 11 of an automatic cartridge loading mechanism, a temporary storage case 13 is provided in the vicinity of a recording and reproducing part 12. At the time of changing a cartridge 10, a changing control means 15 controls a carrying part 14, by which first of all, the cartridge 10 of the reproducing part 12 is taken out and carried temporarily to the temporary storage case 13. Subsequently, the next cartridge 10 to be changed is taken out of the storage case 11 and installed to the reproducing part 12, and reproduction is executed. Accordingly, comparing with a system for returning that which has been taken out of the conventional reproducing part 12 to the regular storage case 11, the time required for reproduction can be shortened, and the changing work can be executed at a high speed.

In this case, two photodetectors 13, 14 are used, one photodetector 13 is arranged to a position near the beam splitter by a prescribed distance (w) from the focal point P2 and the other photodetector is arranged at a position parted from the focal point P1 by a distance (w) and the beam splitter output light is received at a respective position. Thus, the differential output V of the photodetectors 13 and 14 shows an S-shaped characteristic curve to the deviation delta of focal point to constitute an automatic focus servo system.

    • PURPOSE:To control the relative deviation between a light source and a lens in a direction perpendicular to the lens optical axis and to obtain stability with respect to temperature by providing a lens holder or light source holder with a mechanism which absorbs elastically heat stress due to the difference in coefficient of thermal expansion between both holders. CONSTITUTION:A light source holding part 3 where a semiconductor 1 is fixed to a coupling member 4 by shrinkage fitting, and the coupling member 4 is clamped threadably to the lens holder 5. The focal length of a coupling lens 2 varies with temperature, so the coupling member 4 and lens holder 5 are made of metals having different coefficients of thermal expansion in such a temperature compensating structure that the light emission point of the semiconductor laser 1 is fixed at the focal length position of the coupling lens 2 according to variation in the focal length. The engagement part between the light source holding part 3 and coupling member 4 is cylindrical, so isotropy is obtained against temperature variation. Consequently, motion in the same surface of the semiconductor laser 1 is only motion depending upon the unbalance of the cylindrical engagement part and suppressed small, thereby obtaining stability as to temperature.

    • PURPOSE:To execute the start stop operation of a tape a high speed by operating directly a tension on a tape by a freely rotatable idler, and equalizing the operated tension extending over a buffer section. CONSTITUTION:A steel wire 30 is wound and extended between rotating pulleys 31, 33. This wire 30 is coupled with a carriage 22. Therefore, a rotational torque of the rotating pulley 31 is propagated as a force in the linear direction to the carriage 22 by the steel wire 30.
