    • PURPOSE:To reduce a hydraulic loss of a guide vane flow passage and to improve the efficiency of a pump and a water turbine by noticing a fact that the height of a runner mouthpiece is deviated from the width of a guide vane flow passage. CONSTITUTION:A Francis type water turbine comprises a runner 1 having a runner mouthpiece; guide vanes 3 arranged on the runner mouthpiece side of the runner 1; and rotatable around spindles 3a and 3b, upper and lower covers 2 and 4 to rotatably support the spindles 3a and 3b and form a guide vane flow passage; and stay vanes 5 of which is arranged on the high pressure side of each guide vane 3. A flow water surface is formed by using the flow passage of the stay vane 5c, a guide vane flow passage, and the runner mouthpiece. Chamfering is applied on the corner parts on the runner 1 side of the flow water surfaces of upper and lower covers 2 and 4. An intersection A between the chamfered surface and a surface, positioned facing the runner 1 of the upper and lower covers 2 and 4, with a gap c therebetween is present on the opposite side to a water flow surface in relation on the extension line B of the water flow surface of the runner 1.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce flow loss owing to the difference between the installing angle of a stay vane and the flowing-in angle to the stay vane, by cutting off the stay vane installing faces of seed rings, and increasing the thicknesses gradually from the outer peripheral end to the inner peripheral end of the speed rings. CONSTITUTION:In a spiral form casing 1 of a hydraulic turbine or a reversible pump-turbine, plural stay vanes 4 are lined up in the peripheral direction between the upper and lower two annular plates opposing to each other, and thereby, the upper and lower speed rings 2 and 3 are formed. In this case, the speed vane installing side surfaces 2a and 3a of the upper and lower speed rings 2 and 3 are cut off, and their thicknesses are changed to become larger gradually from the outer peripheral end (t) to the inner peripheral end T. As a result, the difference between the installing angle of the stay vane 4 and the flowing-in angle to the stay vane 4 is reduced. Consequently, the flow loss can be reduced, and the whole performance and the economy of a hydraulic turbine or a reversible pump-turbine can be improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain performance lowering of a moving blade by the changes in the operation condition and obtain a high efficiency by a moving blade support shaft and supporting the angle rotatably by a main shaft (water wheel rotation shaft), at an axial flow water wheel. SOLUTION: This water wheel is provided with a casing 4, having a guide vane on its outer periphery and storing a main shaft 21 of the water wheel on its inside and a hub, on whose outer periphery a moving blade 2a is provided and in whose inside a moving blade drive mechanism in which the moving blade 2a is rotatingly driven around a support shaft 17 of this moving blade 2a is stored. In the axial flow water wheel for driving this moving blade drive mechanism by the axial direction drive of the main shaft 21, the moving blade drive mechanism is provided with a drive mechanism for driving the support shaft 17, so as to vary the angle made by the support shaft 17 and main shaft 21.
