    • PURPOSE:To measure the grainy particle distribution of wet steam by inputting the intensity of photodetection at plural positions which differ in angle and calculating the grading distribution. CONSTITUTION:Light which is emitted by a light source 81 through a power unit 94 is guided to an irradiation window 94 through the optical fiber 82 in a main body 85, projected in a space C, and scattered by drops of water in the wet steam. The scattered light is received by light receiving windows 86-89 which have various angles and guided to an optical switch 95 by optical fibers 90-93. This optical switch 95 switches light beams from the optical fibers 90-93 at specific intervals of time with a switch switching signal generated by a controller 96 and they are guided to a photodetecting element 97. Then the element 97 converts the light into a voltage. Further, the signal from the controller 96 is sent to a signal processing arithmetic unit 99 through a synchronizing device 98 and signals from the light receiving windows 86-89 which are converted into voltages by the element 97 are stored corresponding to each light receiving window in synchronism with the operation of the optical switch 95. Thus, data on a group of water drops in the space C are obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent erosion of a moving vane through evaporation of moisture in wet steam of a steam turbine, by a method wherein a part of gas from a waste heat boiler at an exhaust gas flow path of a gas turbine is introduced to the stationary vane of the low-pressure stage of the gas turbine. CONSTITUTION:A composite cycle consists of a gas turbine 4 and steam turbines 13, 17 and 19. A waste heat boiler 5 is installed to the exhaust gas flow path of the gas turbine 4, a part of waste heat gas 100, being exhausted from a chimney 6 of the boiler 5 and having high calory, is sucked through a waste heat gas outlet 103 by a suction blower 102, it is introduced to a stationary vane of a low-pressure trubine 19 located at a wet steam area, and it is exhausted to the chimney 6 after heating the stationary vane. This enables to reduce wetness of a low-pressure stage of a steam turbine, and permits the prevention of erosion of a moving vane. Additionally, the reduction in energy loss due to wet steam permits the improvement of a plant efficiency of a turbine.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent abrasion and damage of any of a group of heat transfer pipes by vibration proof plates adopted to prevent the vibrations of any of the heat transfer pipes liable to be damaged are fixed to the trunk portion of the condenser. CONSTITUTION:The vibration proof plates 1 each having a configuration internally void are fixed to the trunk portion of the condenser 100 at positions among a plurality of pipe support plates 20 for supporting the group of heat transfer pipes 21. In this case, the vibration proof plates 1 are so arranged that they support only several rows of the pipes 10a from the outer periphery of the pipe group 21. More particularly, each of the vibration proof plates 1 is made internally void so that is supports only five to six rows of the pipes 10a from the outer periphery of the group of the pipes 10 with the above rows of the pipes passing through the void section of the plate 1. Further, the vibration proof plates 1 are arranged at positions where those pipes which are paticularly liable to be abrased and damaged due to vibrations are located. Consequently, the abdrasions and damages of the heat transfer pipes can be prevented and the safety operation of a turbine plant can be secured.

    • PURPOSE:To protect the titled heat transfer pipes against damages by a method wherein the generation of hydraulic elastic vibrations in the heat transfer pipes due to steam currents flowing through the pipes are prevented. CONSTITUTION:The outer diameter D2 of each of the heat transfer pipes 5a of a pipe section 10a of a pipe nest 10 located on the side where high velocity turbine steam flows in is made larger than the outer diameter D1 of each of the heat transfer pipes 5b of a central section 10b of the pipe next 10 but the inner diameters (d) of all of the pipes are made equal to one another so that the relationship of D2/d>D1/d is established. As a consequence, the rigidity of the heat transfer pipes 5a of the upper pipe section 10a is increaed, the frequency of natural vibrations thereof is increased and the generation of hydraulic elastic vibrations due to the high velocity steam currents flowing through the pipes is prevented so that the heat transfer pipes are protected against damages.

    • PURPOSE:To measure the local wetness of wet steam which flows in a passage continuously and instantaneously, by detecting the quantities of beams of light transmitted and scattered by drops of water in the wet steam which flows in the internal space in a detection part. CONSTITUTION:Light source 3, 3', and 3'' are powered up successively through a power source switch 25 to turn on, and the light from a light source guided to an optical fiber 6 through an optical switch 23 becomes light 5 incident to a flow of wet steam in a measurement space A. The light 13 scattered by drops of water in the measurement space A is guided to a photodetector 16 through an optical fiber 15 and is extracted as a scattered-light signal IS. Part of the incident light 5 is attenuated by the drops of water in the measurement space A, but the remainder reaches a prism 9, and is guided to through an optical fiber 11 to a photodetector 12, which generates a transmitted-light signal IT. Then, a signal arithmetic processor 27 analyzes the signals IS and IT fetched by wavelengths to find a distribution of grain size, thus calculating the wetness of steam.
