摘要： PURPOSE: To improve detection precision by greatly relieving the restrictions of the detection timing of a depression position on a tablet arranged on a screen. CONSTITUTION: When the screen of a liquid crystal display device is regarded as a display area 101, a position read area 102 for detecting a depression position on the tablet is assumed outside the display area 101, and the scanning time of those display area 101 and position read area 102 is set to one frame. On the screen of the liquid crystal display device, an image is displayed when the display area 101 is scanned. To display this image, the liquid crystal display device uses display control signals such as a display data transfer signal 103 and a horizontal scanning signal 104, but in a period of the position read area 102, a position read period signal which becomes low in level in this period is generated to mask the display control signals so that they are not supplied to the liquid crystal display device. Consequently, a noise due to the level inversion of the display control signals is not generated in the period of the position read area 102.
