    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a seal block-shaped gear pump in a fuel system of an engine for a vehicle.
      SOLUTION: In this gear pump provided with a drive gear and a driven gear meshing mutually in a sealed gear case, side plates for sealing side faces of both gears, and a sealing member for sealing a tooth tip, the sealing member is provided among a plurality of tooth tips in the vicinity of a meshing part on a low pressure side separately from the gear case, a suction port is formed by the sealing member and the side plates, the inside of the gear case except the meshing part of both gears and the sealed parts is formed as a high pressure zone where pressure is increased for the suction port, and a pressure dividing seal is provided on the side plate and has cross section like stairs or a shaft of the driven gear is not restrained to the case to support rotation reaction force of an inside part composed of both gears and the sealing member in a central part of a rear surface of the sealing member.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of cavitation in a fuel pump by forming a low pressure fuel circulating hole in a seal member for sealing the tips of a pair of gears, taking a meshing part of both bears and the case interior except a seal part as a high pressure fuel circulating part, and providing a gear pump, a tip seal angle of which is specified. SOLUTION: In a fuel system of an engine for a vehicle to which a seal block type gear pump 3 is applied, fuel is injected from a fuel injection valve, a suction port 35 serving as a suction circulating hole is formed on both side plates of the gear pump 3, and a seal member (hereinafter referred to as a seal block) 33 is for sealing the tips of a pair of gears near the suction port 35 is provided. The seal block 33 is provided separately from a gear case, and provided between one to two tips near the low pressure side meshing part. A low pressure fuel circulating hole is formed on the seal block. The meshing part of both gears 31, 32 and the case interior except a seal part are taken as a high pressure fuel circulating part, and the tip seal angle is set about 35 deg.±5 deg. (number of teeth = 14-18).
