摘要： PURPOSE:To contrive an improvement in prompt heating performance of a titled unit, by constituting a heating resistance unit for a glow plug with a composition containing Co, Ni and Fe at a specific rate. CONSTITUTION:A heating resistance unit for a glow plug is formed by a composition which contains 40-70wt% Co and 2-15wt% Ni and the remainder of Fe. Such glow plug made of an Fe-Ni-Co alloy possesses superior quick heating performance of 5-7sec and is capable of improving starting performance of the diesel engine of an automobile.

CONSTITUTION:The preheating plug used in the diesel engine is constructed in such a manner that a thin metallic wire as the heat resistant member is embedded in a heat resistant metallic pipe of stainless steel or the like and a heat resistant dielectric material such as magnesia powder is packed in the space between the heat resistant member and the heat resistant metallic pipe. In this case, at least one of Fe and Co is used as the heat resistant member. These metals must be pure without the inclusion of other alloy elelments therein. Further, in case where Co alloy including Fe 35-70% is used, the diesel engine can have a sufficiently quick heating property and the efficiency of the diesel engine vehicle can be effectively improved.
