    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately read aloud the KANA(Japanese syllabary) reading of the same notation and different reading word preferentially with the reading used by a user in voice rule synthesis for reading an optional text aloud. SOLUTION: For the same notation and the different reading word, in the case that the user wants the desired KANA reading, by inputting the KANA reading to a KANA/KANJI(Chinese character) conversion part 101, the KANA/ KANJI conversion part 101 uses a KANA look-up index 103 and a thesaurus 105, detects the word No of the desired KANA reading for the word of the same notation and the different reading and stores it in a converted result storage part 106. When the same notation and the different reading word is present in the input text of a voice rule synthesis part 102, the voice rule synthesis part 102 extracts the word No of the word of the same notation and the different reading from a notation look-up index, and when the word No is present in the converted result storage part 106, detects the KANA reading by the word No from the term dictionary 105 and outputs it as voice.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To register words as desired by a user without requiring much labor and time for registering processing by uniquely deciding how to partition the words to be registered in a user dictionary by simple inputs from the user. SOLUTION: A word register part 12 generates partition information showing the relation of correspondence between a description and reading based on the description of a word designated from an input part 1 and the reading inputted by the user for each described character. How to partition the description and the reading is uniquely decided on the stage to input the reading. The word register part 12 adds the partition information to the description and reading and registers it in a user dictionary 11. A mixed writing converting part 9 retrieves the registered word from the user dictionary together with a word in a basic dictionary 10 and converts an input character string mixing Japanese syllabary (KANA) and Chinese character (KANJI) into a suitable KANA/KANJI mixing sentence.

CONSTITUTION: The learning means 105 stores learning information by the combinations of a prefix, a suffix and their preceding and succeeding nouns. A maximum likelihood candidate extracting means 104 extracts a candidate having the highest maximum likelihood out of plural conversion candidates by the use of a learning information acquiring means 106 and a semantic relation acquiring means 107. Namely when processing is started, a reading KANA character string is inputted from an input means 101, a molpheme analysis means 103 prepares plural conversion candidates by retrieving a dictionary 102 based upon the reading KANA. Then the means 104 extracts the maximum likelihood candidate out of the plural conversion candidates by the use of the means 106, 107. At the time of detecting a change in the maximum likelihood candidate, the learning means 105 stores the changed conversion candidate.
