    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program reservation device with which a viewer can easily reserve a program on the basis of advance notice information of the program found by the user during watching TV.
      SOLUTION: The program reservation device stores in-program information automatically extracted from a TV signal as an in-program information block together with broadcast time per unit period during program broadcasting. Upon receiving a reservation instruction from the viewer who has found introduction of a program to be reserved on a television screen under viewing, the device extracts the reservation program information from the past in-program information block within a past predetermined time band by using a reception time as reference, and automatically reserves the program in accordance with the extracted reservation program information.

Thus the character input device refers to the dictionary 110 to retrieve the described character string in response to each input instruction and selects the connectable described character strings based on the grammatical information stored in the dictionary 110 and the grammatical information on the described character string that has just been selected. Then these selected character string and their connections are registered in the form of a morpheme analysis tree. Then the described character string is extracted from the registered analysis tree and converted into a desired character string.
