摘要： PURPOSE:To improve thermal conductivity of graphite by disposing an eutectic alloy of Mo or W and Zr on the surface of graphite and heating and melting the alloy in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere, thereby forming an alloy layer on the graphite surface. CONSTITUTION:An eutectic alloy composed of 26-36 wt.% of Mo and the rest part of Zr or of 15-25 wt.% of W and the rest part of Zr is disposed on a surface of graphite and heated in vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere at a temperature higher than the melting point of the alloy layer. CO gas is generated by the reaction of C of the graphite with O2, the wettability of the alloy is improved by the reducing action of the CO gas and the graphite surface is covered with the alloy by its surface tension to form a dense metallized layer having a thickness of 5-70 mum and a relative density of >=98%. Various metals can be easily bonded to the metallized graphite by soldering or Ni plating, etc. A composite material can be produced by forming the metallized layer on the surface of graphite powder or fiber and dispersing the powder or fiber in Cu, Mg, Al or their alloy or Fe. The device for producing the carbon material has a vessel, a graphite or ceramic stirring member for mixing and stirring the amorphous carbon raw material and at least one of the fullerene and the carbon nanotube fed into the vessel, a heating means for heating the vessel and the contents in the vessel, and a stirring means for stirring the contents in the vessel.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint body with a low connecting resistance and a high mechanical strength, by making the inside structure of a filament near the junction of compound superconductive wires burying super-conductive filaments, in the structure different from the other parts. SOLUTION: Plural filaments are buried in a low resistance metal matrix, and the resultant wire is compounded by a heat treating, so as to form a superconductive filament. The ends of the compound superconductive wires obtained in such a way are abutted each other, and heated by feeding the power while pressurizing in the axial direction, so as to join. The junction 11 of the obtained superconductor 10 is set in an airtight chamber 13. The junction 11 is heated by heating means which consist of heaters 14 and reflecting plates 15 through quartz windows 12. This heat treatment is preferably carried out at 600 to 800 deg.C for more than 10 hours. At the same time, the conductor 10 other than the heat treating part is cooled by a water cooling jacket 16 or the like. Consequently, the junction 11 deteriorated electrically can be restored efficiently without giving a deterioration to the other parts.

The fiber bundle has a reactional layer with boron in the outer peripheral layer thereof and the thickness of the reactional layer is >=3μm. The carbon fiber bundle is uni-, two- or three-dimensionally oriented. The metallic powder is of a metal capable of producing a carbide or a boride in sintering and the ceramics is a carbide or a boride.
