摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a cooling pipe from causing softening or strength drop at the time of brazing work, by constituting this heat-resistant high heat conductive cooling pipe of an outer layer consisting of copper or copper alloy, a middle layer consisting of copper or copper alloy containing refractory particles, and an inner layer consisting of copper or copper alloy. SOLUTION: The powder of Cu-Al alloy containing a specified quantity of Al is oxidized, according to the usual method, whereby alumina dispersed reinforced copper where Al2 O3 (alumina) is dispersed within Cu matrix is manufactured, and this is made into powder. A rubber mold where a copper or copper alloy pipe is arranged at the center is prepared, and powder-form alumina dispersed reinforced copper is filled between the pipe arranged at the center and the rubber mold, and it is solidified and molded by CIP molding,and then this is enclosed with a container consisting of copper or copper alloy to make a billet, and it is molded into a pipe by hot extrusion, rolling, and drawing.

摘要： Disclosed is a friction stir welding technique which avoids occurrence of a dent, in a joining region, extending to a level beneath the joined surfaces. At end portions of the frame members (50, 60) to be joined, at the joining region, thickened parts which project toward the rotary body joining tool (70) are provided. Two adjoining thickened parts, of adjacent members to be joined, can form a trapezoid shape. The rotary body joining tool has a small-diameter tip portion and a larger diameter portion. The rotary body joining tool is inserted in the thickened parts. In a state where the rotary body joining tool has been inserted small-diameter tip end first, to a level where the larger diameter portion of the rotary body joining tool overlaps the thickened part but does not extend below the upper surface of the non-thickened surfaces of the members joined, the rotary body is rotated and moved along the joining region. Even when a gap exists between two thickened parts, a desirable joining can be carried out. After the joining, the remaining parts of the thickened parts can be machined so as to form a smooth surface.

摘要： To join two abutting metal plates by electron beam welding, a bar of a filler metal is laid over a gap at the butt joint. The electron beam is directed on top of this bar so that it melts and fills the gap. The gap is so dimensioned that the molten metal just fills it. The gap can be partly filled up by a filler metal insert or powder prior to welding. A copper backing plate can be used at the other side of the joint. This eliminates welding defects (unilateral fusion, arching) which are common in conventional electron beam welding. A simple electron gun is suitable for this method. The butt joint requires no careful preparation and can be flame cut.
