    • A rotation sensor includes a rotation detector mounted on a holder which is in turn inserted in a casing through its opening. A cover is formed by molding a resin so as to cover the opening of the casing and the portion of the holder protruding from the opening of the casing. A pair of relay terminals extend through a base portion of the holder and a gap defined in the holder, are fixed to a support wall, and connected to respective lead pieces of the detector. A resin cover is formed by molding a resin. When forming the cover, pressure is applied to the holder, thereby causing the holder to bulge axially in the holder. This in turn pushes the relay terminals in the axial direction. But since the relay terminals are fixed to the support wall, the support wall will absorb such pushing force, thereby preventing such pushing from being transmitted to the detector. In order to more effectively absorb such pushing force, the relay terminals may be provided with bent portions in the gap.

    • An image input device photoelectrically reads a document and outputs digital data. This image reader includes a first voltage generating circuit for generating a first voltage for setting an upper limit of contrast, a second voltage generating circuit for generating a second voltage for setting a lower limit of contrast, and an A/D converter for converting an input analog signal to a digital signal in accordance with the first and second voltages. At least one of the voltages generated by the first voltage generating circuit and second voltage generating circuit is variable. Also disclosed is an image reader including a dark voltage memory circuit, storing dark voltages corresponding to color signals R, G and B, a first switching circuit sequentially switching the output of the dark voltage memory circuit and outputting a selected dark voltage, a second switching circuit adapted to synchronously output a selected color signal corresponding to the selected dark voltage, and a differential amplifier subtracting the selected dark voltage from said selected color signal.

    • A movable structure for a display includes: a display device placed in a substantially vertical state in a front opening of a chassis; a sliding member disposed on the chassis and supporting a lower fulcrum of a lower end portion of the display device so as to be movable in back and forth directions; and a guide groove disposed on the chassis and supporting an upper fulcrum of an upper end portion of the display device so as to be movable in vertical directions, so that the upper end portion of the display device downward moves while the lower end portion forward moves, thereby opening the front opening of the chassis, wherein the sliding member includes a first sliding member supported with the chassis so as to be slidable in the back and forth directions by a first sliding stroke, and a second sliding member supported on the first sliding member so as to be slidable in the back and forth directions by a second sliding stroke and supporting the lower fulcrum of the lower end portion of the display device, whereby the lower fulcrum of the lower end portion of the display device is movable in the back and forth directions by a sum of the first sliding stroke and the second sliding stroke.
