    • An adjusting device serves for moving a moveable part into various positions, for example a side ventilator window of a motor vehicle. A servomotor (14) drives a spindle drive (18) which comprises essentially a spindle (24) having an external thread (26) and a sleeve part (28) which surrounds the spindle and has a corresponding internal thread (30). When acted upon by an external force, axial play in the region of the spindle drive (18) may lead to noise being produced; in order to avoid the noise, one (30) of the two threads comprises separate threaded parts (32, 36), and an elastically prestressable element (38) is provided with the aid of which an axial force can be produced between the two threaded parts (32, 36). The axial force causes the two threaded parts (32, 36) each to bear against opposite flanges of the external thread (26), so that the axial thread play is eliminated.

    • The invention is directed to a power operated jig-saw which includes a housing and an elongated saw-blade holder for holding a saw-blade. A first bearing pivotally mounts the elongated saw-blade holder in the housing. A drive imparts a reciprocating up and down movement to the elongated saw-blade holder. A cam arrangement imparts a reciprocating movement to the elongated saw-blade holder and includes a body rotatably mounted in the housing and operatively connected to the drive. The rotating body has formed thereon a continuous cam surface extending about the axis of rotation thereof. The cam arrangement also includes a carrier and a resilient member. The carrier is mounted in the housing so as to be reciprocally movable in a direction transverse to the elongated saw-blade holder and carries a bearing for slideably holding the saw-blade holder. The resilient member urges the carrier into engagement with the cam surface whereby the carrier is reciprocated in response to the rotational movement of the cam surface causing a saw-blade attached to the saw-blade holder to trace out an enclosed path.

    • A jig saw has a pivotally mounted reciprocating saw blade assembly which is reciprocated by a drive shaft. A pendular stroke device generates an additional feed movement of the saw blade. The pendular stroke device comprises a rod like element reciprocating in a direction substantially parallel to the direction of reciprocation of the saw blade, a rotatable drive element driven by the drive shaft, and a pivotally mounted engagement element against which the saw blade assembly is spring biased. The rod like element is coupled to the rotatable drive element and acts to pivot the engagement element to pivot the saw blade assembly. The pivotal axis of the engagement element is displaceable to change the spacing between the engagement element and the rod like element to determine the degree of or eliminate pivoting of the saw blade assembly. Preferably, the engagement element is pivotally mounted on an eccentric formed on a shaft which has a handle for adjustably rotating the shaft. In this way, when the pivotal feed movement is eliminated, the saw blade is not caused to slope in an oblique position.
