    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing mesenchymal stem cells, which efficiently selects and proliferates mesenchymal stem cells without requiring a separator of exclusive use and complicated separation operation. SOLUTION: One or more of bone marrow liquid, cord blood, peripheral blood, synovial membrane and amnion are seeded in a liquid medium that is filled in a container and comprises water having a specific gravity of 1.06-1.10 g/mL at 37°C as a main component and a culture is carried out on the ceiling surface of the container at 37±2°C to culture the mesenchymal stem cells. Preferably the specific gravity of the liquid medium is adjusted by using at least one selected from silica fine powder coated with a polyvinylpyrrolidone, a water-soluble copolymer of sucrose and epichlorohydrin and a water-soluble compound containing a triiodo aromatic ring.
