    • A display system of the present invention includes a liquid crystal platform section (200) which outputs display data for displaying, on a liquid crystal display section (100), an image in accordance with information obtained from an automobile. The liquid crystal platform section (200) includes a DIC (201) which generates display data and calculates a display position of the image to be displayed on the liquid crystal display section (100) from the obtained information and which causes the generated display data to be displayed in the calculated image display position. The DIC (201) updates display so that the image moves at frame intervals from a start position of image display to the image display position calculated from the automobile information currently obtained, when an interval at which the information is obtained is longer than each of the frame intervals for displaying the image. The start position is the image display position having been calculated from the information obtained immediately before the information currently obtained. This makes it possible to realize a display system including an image display device whose change in image can be reliably tracked by eyes of a driver (human being).

    • A simulation device includes a display section which is mounted on a vehicle and displays, as an instrument panel image, driving information including vehicle state information such as the speed of the vehicle and engine revolutions and additional information such as a navigation image; a layout generation section that generates layout information of the instrument panel image displayed on the display section; and an information processing section that determines the layout of the instrument panel image with reference to the layout information generated by the layout generation section and the aforesaid driving information. Since the display section displays the instrument panel image with the layout determined by the information processing section, it is possible to carry out simulation close to the feeling of actual driving.

    • An image processing device of the present invention includes a plurality of processing sections for successively receiving and decoding a plurality of data blocks, which have been obtained by encoding a plurality of image blocks of an image. The plurality of processing sections include an inverse discrete cosine transform processing section for performing two-dimensional inverse discrete cosine transform. When one of the processing sections is unable to receive the data block, the one of the processing sections sends a busy signal to preceding one of the processing sections. When one of processing sections receives the busy signal, the one of the processing sections discontinues data block transfer to following one of the processing sections.
