As a compound which forms the isocyanate compound residual group Z (a group of removing all isocyanate groups from the isocyanate compound), fatty acid monoisocyanate compound of octadecyl isocyanate or the like, and aromatic monoisocyanate compound of m-isopropenyl-alpha,alpha'- dimethylbenzil isocyanate, etc., are exemplified. A material for thermal recording which is extremely high in colouring sensitivity and excellent in brightness (texture fog) is obtained thereby.
