摘要： PURPOSE:To facilitate operation for connecting the core of an optical fiber in an excessive-length storage tray. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber connection box 14 is equipped with the excessive-length storage tray 38 which stores the excessive-length part of the core 16b of an optical fiber. The base end part of each excessive-length storage tray 38 is engaged rotatably with a tray support frame 41. The tray support frame 41 is coupled with a tray base 40 rotatably around a hinge pin 59. The excessive-length storage tray 38 is put in a box body 20 as shown by the solid lines. When the coated optical fiber 16b in the excessive-length storage tray 38 is connected, the excessive-length storage tray 38 is rotated forward into a horizontal state shown by two-dot long and two short lines together with the tray support frame 41 and then the excessive-length storage tray 38 comes out of the optical fiber connection box 14. Consequently, the operation for connecting the coated optical fiber 16b in the excessive-length storage tray 38 is easily performed. Further, the optical fiber connection box 14 is reducible in size. This is suitable as an optical fiber connection box stored in the external box of underground power distribution cable equipment installed on the ground.

摘要： PURPOSE:To perform the installation work and maintenance of an optical fiber joint box in safety by installing an optical fiber joint box, having bottom part inclining downward toward the front and an optical cable pull-in port in the bottom, while spacing apart from the bottom face of an outer box. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber connecting section 4 has the bottom part inclining downward toward the front and spaced apart 2f from the bottom face of the outer box 2 for a distribution cable unit 1. Consequently, an optical cable 6 can be pulled from the bottom face of the outer box 6 and the bottom part of the optical fiber joint box 4 into the joint box 4 through an opening 2d in the outer box 2 for exclusive use. A series of works, including the work for leading out the optical cable 6 through an opening 2c in the front of the joint box 4 and through the opening 2d of the outer box 2, can be performed using only the opening 2d for exclusive use. This method ensures safety for the worker at the time of installation and the maintenance of the optical fiber joint box 4.

CONSTITUTION:A lead-in opening 22 for leading an optical cable 16 in the optical fiber connection box is formed in the bottom part 20a of the box body 20 which form the optical fiber connection box 14. The lead-in opening 22 has a screw hole 22a inside the box body 20 and a comic internal surface 22b outside the box body 20. A cable ground 23 has a male screw part 23b and a nut part 23c, which projects into the box body 20, in one body. An O ring 24 is compressed by the tip end surface and comic internal surface 22b of the cable ground 23 to hold the lead-in opening 22 that the optical cable 16 penetrates airtight. To clamp and fix this cable ground 23, the nut part 23c inside the optical fiber connection box 14 is only operated. Thus, only the operation inside the optical fiber connection box 14 is required, so no space is necessary below the optical fiber connection box 14 and the leading-in operation for the optical fiber 16 wherein the optical cable 16 is led in directly from the bottom part of the optical fiber connection box 14 is enabled.

CONSTITUTION:A horizontal guide member 29 is fixed to the back wall 20b of the box body of the optical fiber connection box. A grip member 28 which grips the tension member 16a of the optical cable 16 is provided laterally slidably along the guide member 29. Grip members 28 as many as optical cables 16 are provided. An optical cable 16 is led in the fiber connection box through, for example, the lead-in opening of the bottom part and temporarily drawn up by, for example, about 1.5 meter. When the grip member 28 is slid to the right or left, the grip member 28 is not a hindrance to the optical cable 16, which can easily be lifted. Then the sheath 16d of the optical cable 16 is peeled to take the coated optical fiber 16b out, and the tension member 16a is cut to specific length (the figure shows the state after cutting) and gripped by the grip member 28.

The optical cable 16 which runs through the lead-in opening 22 of the bottom part 20a of the optical fiber connection box 14 faces slightly outwards, so it can be led out of the optical fiber connection box 14 immediately while avoiding its internal obstacles and can also be drawn up naturally toward the door 12a of the equipment 11 for the underground power distribution cable. The optical cable 16 need not be led round in the equipment 11 for the underground power distribution cable, so the operation is easy. Further, the optical fiber connection box 14 can easily be reduced in size.
