    • The invention concerns an electromagnetic actuator for actuating a gas-exchange valve (2) on a reciprocating internal combustion engine, the actuator having an armature (3) which is operatively connected to the gas-exchange valve (2) and can be guided in reciprocating manner against the force of two oppositely directed restoring springs (6, 7) between the pole faces (8.1, 8.2) of two electromagnets (4, 5) whose current supply can be controlled by a control device (16), which are disposed at a mutual spacing, and which act as opening and closing devices. The actuator further comprises at least one additional mass (11, 12) which is associated with the gas-exchange valve (2) and can be guided so that it is movable relative thereto and in the same direction. The additional mass (11, 12) is operatively connected via a cam (13.1, 13.2) to the gas-exchange valve (2) in the final phase of its movement in the direction of the collecting electromagnets (4, 5).

    • A process is described to supply a liquid lubricant to the points to be lubricated of a reciprocating piston engine. The lubricant is led by a gaseous transport medium through supply ducts at least in the area of the point to be lubricated and is applied on the surfaces to be lubricated as small liquid particles. The lubricant and the transport medium are mixed in a conditioning device. The amount of lubricant is dosed by modifying the volume flow of transport medium and/or the concentration of lubricant in the transport medium.
