摘要： Disclosed is a process for producing maleic anhydride from an oxygenate feedstock. A mixed C 4 hydrocarbons is produced and refined from an oxygenate to olefin process and has low content of isobutene and isobutane. The mixed C 4 hydrocarbon composition is then either directly be made into maleic anhydride or alternatively the mixed C 4 hydrocarbon composition can first be hydrogenated to produced a stream rich in n-butane which can then used to produce maleic anhydride.

摘要： This invention is directed to a method of removing dimethyl ether from an olefin stream. The method includes distilling the olefin stream so that the dimethyl ether is separated out of the olefin stream with propane. The olefin stream can then be further distilled to provide a polymer grade ethylene stream and a polymer grade propylene stream, with each stream containing not greater than about 10 wppm dimethyl ether.

摘要： Disclosed is a method of recovering oxygenates from an olefin production process and oxygenate compositions that can be recovered from an olefin production process. The recovered oxygenate compositions comprise a mixture of alcohols, ethers, ketones, and/or aldehydes. The method comprises contacting an oxygenate with a molecular sieve catalyst to form an olefin composition, wherein the olefin composition comprises olefin, water and oxygenated hydrocarbon. The olefin composition is cooled to form a liquid water containing stream and an olefin containing vapor stream, wherein the water containing stream comprises at least 1 wt% oxygenated hydrocarbon. The water containing stream is separated from the vapor stream, and the vapor stream is compressed. An olefin product stream and an oxygenated hydrocarbon containing stream are separated from the compressed vapor stream, and the oxygenated hydrocarbon containing stream separated from the compresse vapor stream is combined with the cooled, liquid water containing stream. An oxygenated hydrocarbon product is then recovered from the combined water containing stream and liquid oxygenated hydrocarbon containing stream.

摘要： Disclosed is a system of making an olefin derivative from a dilute olefin feed. Dilute olefin (1) is sent to an olefin reaction unit (3) to form an olefin derivative product. The olefin derivative product (4) is recovered from the reaction unit while a vent stream (5) is also removed. A portion of the vent steam may be recycled back to the reaction unit via line (9). The vent stream is sent to an olefin separation unit (6), where an olefin stream (7) is recovered and returned to the olefin reaction unit for additional processing. The non-olefin compounds are removed via purge (8). Using appropriate recycle of vent gas within the olefin reaction unit allows the use of a high quality olefin stream in the olefin reaction process with a reduced risk of equipment fouling and catalyst contamination, while maintaining a high product quality.
