    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency particularly during release mechanism driving in a clutch actuator for operating a release mechanism.SOLUTION: The actuator for driving the release mechanism of a clutch includes a motor 3, an output member 7, a ball screw mechanism 5, and a trapezoidal screw mechanism 6, and a power transmission mechanism 4. The output member 7 is connected to the release mechanism to move in the operation direction of the release mechanism. The one-direction rotation of the motor 3 of the ball screw mechanism 5 is converted into movement of the output member 7 in a first axial direction. The trapezoidal screw mechanism 6 has a self-lock function to a reverse driving force from the release mechanism, and converts the other-direction rotation of the motor 3 into movement of the output member 7 in a second axial direction. The power transmission mechanism 4 switches the rotation of the motor 3 to the ball screw mechanism 5 and the trapezoidal screw mechanism 6 to transmit it.
