摘要： A machine is provided for inspecting the heel code of a bottle (10). The bottle is supported vertically at an inspection location and a camera (28) having an imaging area is located vertically beneath the bottle. A light source (16) directs a beam of light downwardly through the bottle, and an iris (22) limits the beam to light which will pass through the opening of the supported bottle and will illuminate the bottom of the supported bottle outwardly of the glass nubs (24) representing the heel code of the bottle. A cylindrical mirror (27) is supported coaxial to the axis of the bottle between the bottom of the bottle (10) and the camera (28) for reflecting a beam of light which has passed through the bottle, and includes an annular portion containing the heel code, towards the camera. A transparent plate (32) having a black center (34) prevents light within the annular portion of the beam of light from reaching the camera.

摘要： A machine is provided for inspecting a container which is being conveyed along a linear path. The machine has cabinets (C 1 , C 2 ) situated in front of the conveyor path (25) at either side of a central open area (23) in front of the conveyor path which is to be used by an operator for servicing the conveyor. The interior sides (45, 47) of these cabinets are open for access to electronics, and the central opening is closed by a pair of doors (21, 22) which are releasably attached to keyways (41) at the sides of the cabinets. The doors can be pushed in to provide access to the central area and can be pulled from the cabinets to detach them and provide access to electronics through the open sides (45, 47) of the cabinets.

摘要： A motor controller system is provided for operating a plurality of step motors. The step motors are arranged in a number of motor groups each having no more than "N" step motors. A group multiplexer (48) will deliver feed signals to the correct numbered motor of a motor group. There is a single 1 axis motor control (44) and an output drive (46) for each motor number of a group. The 1 axis motor control (44) supplies the group multiplexer (48) with motor group data so that the group multiplexer will supply the correct motor group, and the 1 axis motor control also individually enables the motors of that group which are to be operated and conjointly supplies all the output drives with a desired feed signal.

摘要： A machine is provided for inspecting a container which is being conveyed along a linear path by a conveyor (12). The machine has spaced right and left hand cabinets (C 1 , C 2 ) in front of the linear path, with the space (23) therebetween being a space in which an operator can stand to be proximate to the linear path. The machine has left hand and right hand inspection stations, each including a mirror assembly (54) and a light source assembly (58). The mirror assembly (54) of one of the inspection stations is located in front of the linear path and the light source assembly (54) of the other inspection station is located in front of the linear path. These front mounted assemblies are pivotally mounted about vertical axes so that they can be pivoted from a closed position proximate the linear path (Fig. 5) to a retracted position away from the linear path (Fig. 6). At the retracted position, an operator can enter the space (23) in the machine and service the inspection stations.
