    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe, highly reliable, inexpensive, and economically excellent pump facility which stops a pump in a short period of time, without causing abnormality or excessive vibration in a pump by a high water head, while the pump facility allows a backflow via a delivery pipe when stopping the pump. SOLUTION: The pump facility has a suction water tank 11, a suction pipe 13, the pump 14, the delivery pipe 15, and a delivery water tank 12, and allows the backflow via the delivery pipe 15 when stopping the pump, by sucking water of the suction water tank 11 by the pump 14 via the suction pipe 13, and by delivering the water to the delivery water tank 12 via the delivery pipe 15. A rising part 18 in the delivery water tank 12 of the delivery pipe 15 is substantially vertically arranged, and an upper end delivery port level of the rising part 18 is set at the highest water level HWL2 or more of the delivery water tank 12.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pump installation including a pump delivery section, provided with a water surface having ocean waves and preventing fluttering of a flap valve attached to the delivery end portion of a delivery pipe by a simple configuration, and also to provide a method for preventing fluttering of the flap valve in the pump installation. SOLUTION: This pump installation is configured to include a vertical shaft pump 10 provided with: the delivery pipe 21 having a backflow preventing mechanism as the flap valve 23, attached to a delivery end 22, and opened to the atmosphere through an atmosphere opening pipe 26; and a delivery tank 200 provided with the water surface with the ocean waves, and to deliver water sucked by the vertical shaft pump 10 from the delivery end 22 into the delivery tank 200 through the delivery pipe 21. An airtight closing valve 27 is provided to the atmosphere opening pipe 26, and the closing valve 27 is closed when the vertical shaft pump 10 is stopped to shut off the inside of the delivery pipe 21 from the atmosphere.
