The productivity module (252) has a second print engine (268), a controller (80), and an inverter (94, 218). The controller (80) is configured to receive one or more timing signals from the first print engine (254) and synchronize timing of the second print engine (268) with the first print engine (254) based at least in part on the timing signals received from the first print engine (254). The inverter (218) has an input paper path (220) having an entrance (226) configured to accept one or more receiver sheets from the first print engine; an output paper path (222) having an exit (232) configured to supply the one or more receiver sheets to the second print engine (268); and an inversion paper path (224) having an entrance (234) coupled to an exit (228) of the input paper path (220) and an exit (236) coupled to an entrance (230) of the output paper path (222).

    • Printers are provided having a print engine having a print head that forms lines of picture elements on a receiver based upon lines of pixel values and a controller that causes the print engine to print a first print having a plurality of different areas along a cross-track direction with target densities and that receives data from which measured densities for different ones of the plurality of different areas can be determined. The controller determines a line density adjustment function based upon a functional relationship between a cross-track position of different ones of the areas and a difference between the measured density and the target density at the different ones of the areas and subsequently prints a production print according to lines of pixel values for the production print modulated by the line density adjustment function.

    • A focus adjustment mechanism for adjusting a focus position of a printhead (250) includes a rotatable pin (660) that is rotatable around a pin axis. The rotatable pin includes a cam section (664) having a surface whose radial distance from the pin axis varies around its perimeter, and a gripping feature (666). An adjustment plate (670) includes a gripping feature (678) and is adapted to fit over and engage with the gripping feature of the rotatable pin such that the adjustment plate rotates together with the rotatable pin. A fastener (674) fastens the adjustment plate to a support structure (690) when the adjustment plate is positioned in a desired orientation. The printhead includes a frame feature (652) which is pulled firmly against the cam section of the rotatable pin such that as the rotatable pin is rotated the frame feature rides on the surface of the cam section thereby adjusting the focus position of the printhead.
