摘要： A multi-terminal filtered electrical connector assembly includes a housing having a plurality of terminal-receiving passageways. A plurality of terminals are received in the passageways, with tail portions of the terminals projecting from the housing. A terminal alignment plate, independent of the housing, includes a plurality of through holes for receiving and aligning the tail portions of the terminals. First complementary interengaging latch devices are provided between the housing and the alignment plate for readily assembling the alignment plate on the housing. A ferrite block is mountable on the alignment plate and includes a plurality of through holes alignable with the holes in the alignment plate for receiving therethrough the tail portions of the terminals. Second complementary interengaging latch devices are provided between the alignment plate and the ferrite block for readily assembling the ferrite block on the alignment plate. Therefore, the alignment plate and the ferrite block can be assembled as a subassembly about the tail portions of the terminals, and the subassembly can be readily assembled to the housing. A flexible capacitor filter circuit is mounted on a rear face of the housing and through which filters the terminals extend.

摘要： A multi-terminal filtered electrical connector assembly includes a housing having a plurality of terminal-receiving passageways. A plurality of terminals are received in the passageways, with tail portions of the terminals projecting from the housing. A flexible capacitor filter circuit is mounted on the housing and through which the terminals extend. A ferrite block is provided with a plurality of through holes for receiving therethrough portions of the terminals. A terminal alignment plate may be provided for mounting the ferrite block. A second flexible capacitor filter circuit may be provided through which portions of the terminals extend. The ferrite block may be disposed between the two flexible capacitor filter circuits. The housing is constructed for mounting on a printed circuit board to provide either a right angle connector or a direct mounted connector.

摘要： A sealing system is provided between an electrical connector assembly and another connector component, panel or the like. The connector assembly includes a housing having a mating end with a seal-receiving channel and a resilient seal received in the channel. The seal includes a sealing groove having a given width and a given depth. The connector component includes a sealing lip insertable into the sealing groove when the connector assembly and the connector component are mated along a mating axis. The sealing lip has a width greater than the width of the sealing groove and a length relative to the depth of the sealing groove such that the lip is spaced from the bottom of the groove when the connector assembly and the connector component are in mated condition. Therefore, only sealing forces normal to the mating axis are effected between the sealing lip and the sealing groove. A radio frequency seal is provided by point contacts between an edge of a flange of the connector assembly engaging an abutment surface of the connector component, the flange being overlapped with the sealing lip and another flange of the connector component, whereby a labyrinth path is defined through an interface area including the point contacts.

A latch extends from a wall of the housing and includes a forwardly projecting locking beam and a rearwardly projecting actuator. The housing further includes a shroud unitarily molded therewith to cover both sides and the top of the locking beam of the latch. The wire seal cover further includes a shroud for protecting the actuator of the latch. However, at least a portion of the shroud on the wire seal cover is open to enable actuation of the latch for unmating the connector.

摘要： A sealed electrical connector assembly is provided for wire-to-wire electrical connections. The assembly includes a pair of mateable electrical connectors each of which includes a plurality of terminal receiving cavities extending therethrough. Each terminal receiving cavity preferably includes a static locking projection and a dynamic terminal positioning beam which deflects during insertion of the corresponding terminal and which resiliently returns to an undeflected condition for locking the terminal in the housing after complete insertion. A TPA component is mounted to the rear of each housing prior to insertion of the terminal. The TPA component includes terminal receiving apertures which function to rotationally align each terminal for efficient full seating in the corresponding terminal receiving cavity. Positive assurance of full terminal seating is achieved by advancing the TPA component from a first position into a second locked position.

The method includes providing a continuous strip of the substrate. The strip is moved to a work station whereat the electronic components are mounted thereon. The strip, with the electronic components mounted thereon, is wound onto a reel for subsequent processing. The continuous strip of substrate is provided with a code for reading at the work station.

A flat flexible circuit is mounted against the face of the housing and includes a ground plane on a side thereof facing the housing. The circuit has a hole for receiving the integral pin of the housing. The ground plane is of a second metal material different from that of the housing. An omni-directional conductive adhesive is deposited on the ground plane over the area of the hole to expand the conductive interface between the metal housing and the metal ground plane. Preferably, the conductive adhesive includes abrasive grain-like particles.

A ductile conductive film is deposited on the substrate in an area at least about the hole. A generally round terminal pin is inserted into the hole in the substrate in contact with the conductive film. The pin has a given diameter greater than that of the hole. The difference between the diameter of the pin and the diameter of the hole is on the order of 5% to 50% of the diameter of the hole.

A cover is hingedly connected to the housing for movement from an open position to a closed position, with the cover and the housing having respective juxtaposed walls bounding at least one lateral side of the passage when the cover is in its closed position. Complementary laterally engaging latches are provided between the juxtaposed walls to hold the cover in its closed position. The wall of the cover is juxtaposed inside the wall of the housing in a lateral direction. Therefore, lateral forces on the terminal biases the wall of the cover outwardly toward the wall of the housing to ensure engagement of the laterally engaging latches.
