    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which excels in durability.SOLUTION: One of the reasons has been clarified to be the fact that Lewis acid is generated from a supporting salt used in an electrolyte. To solve the problem, a battery has been conceived which includes a cathode having a radical material, an anode capable of occluding and discharging lithium ions, and a nonaqueous electrolyte interposed between the cathode and the anode, which has resulted in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery characterized in that the nonaqueous electrolyte contains a supporting salt consisting of LiX (X selected from the group consisting of bis(oxalate)borate anion, malonato-oxalatoborate anion, and bis(malonato)borate anion). The supporting salt adopted for the nonaqueous electrolyte battery helps to increase its durability. The reason for this is considered to be that these supporting salts can exhibit their action as electrolytes without generating Lewis acid in the internal atmosphere of the battery.
