    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic key system which suitably secures communication characteristics between an electronic key and a transmitting antenna even when the transmitting antenna is arranged inside a vehicular pillar. SOLUTION: The transmitting antenna 13 is constituted of a coil-shaped antenna formed of a spirally wound conductive wire. The transmitting antenna 13 is arranged inside a front pillar Pa in such a way that the axial line of the transmitting antenna 13 is orthogonal to the axial line of the front pillar Pa when viewing a vehicle from the lateral direction. Accordingly, both the ends of the transmitting antenna 13 are made nearest to two side edge parts of the front pillar Pa which are positioned at the opposite sides to each other in the front-rear direction of the vehicle. So that a magnetic flux generated toward the outside of the vehicle of magnetic fluxes output from both ends of the transmitting antena 13 is suitably propagated to the outside of the vehicle through wraparound of the front pillar Pa.
