    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxygen storage release material in which the use amount of a noble metal is reduced, and which can use the noble metal efficiently and exhibit excellent oxygen storage release functions even under relatively low temperature conditions.SOLUTION: In the oxygen storage release material, palladium and iron, and/or an alloy of them are supported on a heat resistant oxide containing a ceria-based oxide, wherein the atomic ratio (Fe/Pd) of the content of iron to the content of palladium is 30 or more. Since the noble metal can be efficiently used by the oxygen storage release material, the material can exhibit excellent oxygen storage release functions even under relatively low temperature conditions, furthermore, the cost can be reduced.
