    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a β titanium alloy bolt at a low cost.
      SOLUTION: Plated layers 22, 24 are formed on the outside surface 20 of a cylindrical blank 18 in plating processes P4, P5. After that, a bolt shape blank 50 is formed from the cylindrical blank 18 by cold forging in a cold forging process P7. Therefore, the β titanium alloy does not come into contact with dies 26, 34, 44 during cold forging because the plated layers 22, 24 are located between the dies 26, etc. and the cylindrical blank 18. As a result, the seizure of the cylindrical blank 18 and blanks 32, 42, 50 on the dies 26, etc. is preferably suppressed. Therefore, β titanium alloy bolts 10 can be manufactured at a low cost because the bolt shape blank 50 can be formed by cold forging.
