    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a β titanium alloy bolt at a low cost.
      SOLUTION: Plated layers 22, 24 are formed on the outside surface 20 of a cylindrical blank 18 in plating processes P4, P5. After that, a bolt shape blank 50 is formed from the cylindrical blank 18 by cold forging in a cold forging process P7. Therefore, the β titanium alloy does not come into contact with dies 26, 34, 44 during cold forging because the plated layers 22, 24 are located between the dies 26, etc. and the cylindrical blank 18. As a result, the seizure of the cylindrical blank 18 and blanks 32, 42, 50 on the dies 26, etc. is preferably suppressed. Therefore, β titanium alloy bolts 10 can be manufactured at a low cost because the bolt shape blank 50 can be formed by cold forging.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hole and a groove, having no burr, simply and in a short time by a method wherein a hole having diameter slightly smaller than a given diameter is formed through drilling and boring and finishing to a hole having a given diameter is effected by a finishing jig, and burrs generated during machining of a prepared hole are removed. SOLUTION: Prepared hole machining is effected by a drill having diameter smaller than a given size by 0.1-1.0mm. Namely, A hole 2 having diameter smaller than a given size by 0.1-1.0mm is formed. Finishing is then effected concentrically to a prepared hole 2 by an end mill 4 having a given hole diameter. This method, since a cutting work is effected in a specified cut depth from the inner surface of the prepared hole 2, removes burrs 1, formed in a state winding obliquely downward from a lower end part, from the root thereof. As noted above, a hole 3 freed from burrs is formed through combination of drilling works effected by an usual tool, such as a drill and the end mill 4.
