    • PURPOSE:To minimize a process flow change by separating the waste gas to be introduced into a reducing gas recirculating system to two systems,introducing the system having the higher reduction power to the lower part of a reducing zone and introducing the system having the lower reduction power to the intermediate part of the reducing zone. CONSTITUTION:The waste gas taken out of the top of the vertical reduction furnace 1 is subjected to cooling, dust removal and dehumidification by a cooling and scrubbing device 5 and is increased in pressure by a booster 6 through a piping 20. About 20% of the waste gas passing through the piping 20 is used as fuel for a reducing gas generator 4. About 70% of the gas increased in pressure is fed on an acidic gas removing device 7 where CO2, H2S, etc. are removed from the gas. The gas increased in the reduction power is heated up to the required temp. by a gas heater 8 and enters a piping 21 from which the gas is joined with the reducing gas generated in the generator 4 and is blown through a main reducing gas inlet 10 into the furnace 1. About 30% of the gas increased in pressure is heated by the heater 8 and is made into the preliminary reducing gas which is blown through a preliminary reducing gas inlet 9 into the furnace 1.
