    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the temperature of a feeder head precisely and economically during casting of a nonferrous metal, by combining a utilization of conduction heat in an indirect induction heating and an open control method of feeder head temperature based on a magnetic transformation.
      SOLUTION: A feeder head device 10 for nonferrous metal casting comprises a cylindrical feeder head holding section 20 which is installed vertically to be connected to a casting mold and holds molten nonferrous metal to be cast at an unfixed level of molten metal, and a feeder head heating mechanism 30+40 which puts in heat to the molten metal inside the feeder head holding section 20. In the device, the feeder head holding section 20 is a composite cylindrical body, while the feeder head heating mechanism 30+40 is an induction heating mechanism for a base cylindrical body. Namely, in the feeder head holding section 20, a conduction heat adjustment layer 22 made of nonmetallic fire-resistant material is attached to the inner peripheral surface of the base cylindrical body 21 made of ferromagnetic metal, and the molten metal heating mechanism 30+40 is composed of inductors 30 arranged on the outer periphery side of the composite cylindrical body 20 to apply induction heat to the base cylindrical body 21, and a power supply system 40 to energize high frequency to the inductors 30.
