    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch a plurality of signal light beams to a plurality of optical paths by the same optical path switching device.SOLUTION: In the optical path switching device, signal light optical fibers 12a and 12b are arranged substantially on a straight line so as to sandwich signal light optical fibers 10a and 10b for emitting two different types of signal light beams, and the signal light beams and control light beams emitted from these optical fibers are condensed on a thermal lens forming element 30 via a collimator lens 20 and a condenser lens 22, and transmitted through a light-receiving lens 40, a wedge-shaped prism 50 and a coupling lens 60 for condensing the signal light beams having passed through the thermal lens forming element 30, and the resultant signal light beams whose light paths are switched form an image on a light-receiving element 70. The thermal lens forming element 30 has a light absorption layer for transmitting the signal light beams and selectively absorbing the control light beams. Accordingly, the optical paths of the respective signal light beams emitted from the signal light optical fibers 10a and 10b are switched according to the presence or absence of the emission of the control light beams from the control light optical fibers 12a and 12b.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch a signal light beam to a plurality of optical paths of which the number is equal to or larger than the number of control light beams, by the same optical path switching device.SOLUTION: In an optical path switching device, a signal light beam 1000 is emitted from an optical fiber end surface placed at center out of end surfaces of an end-surface proximity 7-core bundle optical fiber 1 on the irradiation side, and control light beam(s), such as 1011, 1012, is/are emitted alone from one of 6 peripheral optical fiber end surfaces or simultaneously emitted from two adjacent optical fiber end surfaces. The signal light beam 1000 and the control light(s) pass a collimator lens 2 and a condenser lens 3, and are converged on and radiated to a thermal lens forming element 4. The signal light from the thermal lens forming element 4 passes a light receiving lens for collimating the light, a truncated dodecagonal pyramid prism 7 including a wedge type prism part, and a coupling lens 8. The signal light, which is emitted from the coupling lens 8 and propagates rectilinearly or has been subjected to optical path switching, selectively enters on one of optical fiber end surfaces 900 to 912 of a 13-core bundle optical fiber 9 being a light receiving element, in accordance with irradiation/non-irradiation of control light beams and combination of control light beams.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data distribution device capable of accomplishing a one-to-multiple connection configuration through path switching by transmitting and distributing a signal for a long distance faster, the signal having high noise resistance and a high data bit rate, when transmitting/distributing a SATA signal to a plurality of distribution destinations.
      SOLUTION: In the data distribution device 10, a data server device 11 and a plurality of client devices 21-23 are connected by an optical cable 17 and data are distributed to the client devices. The data server device comprises a data transmitting means 12 and an E/O conversion unit 13 for generating/adding time synchronization information. Each of the client devices is sequentially connected to the optical cable via an individual optical switch 31. Each of the client devices comprises an optical switch connection control means which extracts the time synchronization information from a signal containing data sent from a database device side and the time synchronization information and connects a connection state of the optical switch corresponding to the client device to a downstream side optical transmission line.
