摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a method for industrially easily imparting a water-resistant dimensional stability to a wood-based material. CONSTITUTION:Treating liquid is prepared by compounding a catalyst as a reaction accelerator with a hemiacetal water solution composed of a glyoxal water solution and a 3-8C alkylene glycol. The treating liquid is infiltrated into a wood-based material to wet the wood-based material. The wood-based material in a wet state is heated for crosslinking the treating liquid with the components of the wood-based material. After that, the wood-based material is pressurized and heated by a press for compressing the wood-based material and solidifying the hemiacetal. In this manner, a water-resistant dimensional stable wood-based material superior in resistance to swelling and resistance to shrinking is obtained.
