In some embodiments, memory is provided for storing an SDDTE optimization container therein. A processor is coupled to the memory and is arranged to analyze an SDDTE optimization container including parameters provided therein and to perform SDDTE optimization based on the parameters. The parameters provided by the SDDTE optimization container include an SDDTE optimization timer, wherein the processor holds in the memory small data messages received during a time frame set by the SDDTE optimization timer upon receipt of a first small data message.

摘要： With the proliferation of Machine-Type Communication (MTC), an excessive use of device trigger messages in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network can have negative effects on user equipment (UE). These effect can include a shortening of UE battery life and/or excessive signalling caused by the frequent changing from an idle mode to an active mode. An MTC Interworking Function (MTC-IWF) can be configured to determine the status of a UE to which a device trigger message is intended. If the device trigger message is low priority and the UE is in an idle state, the MTC-IWF or Mobile Management Entity (MME)/Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN)/Mobile Switching Center (MSC) can buffer the device trigger message.

Some of these embodiments describe a method, performed by an evolved NodeB (eNodeB), that includes operations of determining that a congestion condition exists on the network. An example method can also include transmitting a suspension notification to a user equipment (UE), the UE being in an RRC_CONNECTED state with the eNodeB, to notify the UE that a radio bearer (RB) operating in the network will be suspended. 摘要： Intelligent packet data network gateway (P-GW) relocation for selected internet protocol traffic offload (SIPTO) service continuity is described. A user equipment (UE) application monitoring module, can monitor the network session state for a UE. A transition window can be determined based on both the network session state and a session continuity impact metric. A new packet data network gateway (P-GW) can be associated to the UE during the transition window in response to a determination that a current P-GW of the UE is less optimal, in at least one performance metric, than the new P-GW.
