摘要： An opening and reclosing device 10 for a container such as a sack, bag, pouch, carton or box, comprises: means 18 for affixing the device to a container; an integral cutter (30, fig. 4) for creating an opening; and a zip-locking mechanism for re-closing the opening. The cutter is preferably housed within a slider 26 coupled to a pull tab 28 and movable between a first stop 14 and second stop 16 to open and close the re-closing mechanism, and may be movable between a first deployed position and a second stowed position. The cutter may further comprise first and second legs (48, 42), at right angles to each other, and first and second apertures (40, 26) for attaching the cutter to first and second pegs provided by the slider and the pull tab respectively, by virtue of which the cutter is pivotally and downwardly movable for being deployed to cut open the container. Preferably a stop (38) is provided opposite, or as an extension of, the second leg, to limit the extent of movement of the cutter. Also disclosed is a method of opening and reclosing a container using the above device.

Commutator switching-arrangements for converting direct into alternating currents, particularly for producing high-frequency currents for wireless telegraphy &c., consists of four parallel metal disks D', D , D3, D separated by insulating - sheets L and mounted on a common ebonite bush H on a rotating sleeve M. The metal segments E on the pair of disks D', D are opposite to each other but not to the similar segments E on the disks D3, D . The disks D', D are connected by a bolt C and spring A to one supply lead, the other lead being similarly connected to the disks D , D . The brushes G , G , G , G are interconnected as shown in Fig. 2. When the brushes G', G' engage the metal segments on the disks D', D , current flows through the coil P in one direction, which is reversed when the brushes G , G4 engage their respective contacts an instant later. The spindle N is lubricated by watercooled oil pumped at high pressure through the bearings. In a modification, the disks are fixed, and the bushes rotate.
