摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a modified titania sol having excellent dispersibility, long- term stability, light resistance, etc., by adding H2O2 to a gel or sol of hydrated titanic acid, heating the resultant solution in the presence of an inorganic compound and reacting the produced titania sol precursor with an Si compound or a Zr compound. CONSTITUTION:H2O2 is added to a sol and/or gel of hydrated titanic acid to effect the dissolution of the hydrated titanic acid and obtain a uniform aqueous solution having a TiO2 concentration of preferably about =1. The obtained aqueous solution of titanic acid is heated at >=60 deg.C, especially at >=80 deg.C in the presence of an inorganic compound to hydrolyze the titanic acid. The obtained titania sol precursor is reacted with an Si compound (e.g. silicic acid solution) or a Zr compound (e.g. ZrCl2). The modified titania sol produced by this process has the above characteristics and is stable over a wide pH range.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating composition having strong adhesivity to a base material, capable of forming a coating membrane excellent in transparency by a low temperature treatment and useful for antifouling, antimicrobe and deodorization of ceramic base material, etc., by dissolving or dispersing fine particles of a complex titania and a binder in a solvent. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by dissolving or dispersing (A) fine particles of a complex titania and (B) a binder in (C) a solvent consisting of water and/or an organic solvent. The component A is preferably fine particles of a complex oxide composed of one kind of element or more selected from a group consisting of Si, Sn, Sb, W, Nb, Al and Zr, and Ti. Further, the component B comprises preferably of (i) titanium peroxide or a complex peroxide composed of one kind of element or more selected from a group consisting of Si, Sn, Sb, W, Nb, Al and Zr, and Ti, and (ii) an organic polymer compound (preferably, a polysaccharide). Furthermore, a weight ratio of the component A/the component B is preferably 5/1 to 1 to 5.

CONSTITUTION:Hydrogen peroxide in an amount so as to provide 1-6, preferably 2-6 ratio (H2O2/TiO2) is added to a hydrous titanic acid sol or gel or a mixture thereof to dissolve the hydrous titanic acid and prepare a homogeneous aqueous solution, which is then heated in the presence of a silicon compound, such as silicic acid solution or silica sol, or zirconium compound, such as gel or sol of hydrous zirconium oxide, or a mixture thereof at >=60 deg.C, preferably >=80 deg.C to afford a stable colloidal solution containing dispersed complex fine particles having >=4mum, preferably 5-28mum average particle diameter. The resultant colloidal solution is directly blended in a cosmetic or the solvent is replaced with an organic solvent and blended therewith.

(tin salt, such as tin chloride, stannic acid salt, such as potassium stannate, the oxide or hydroxide of tin) is added to this aq. soln. at a ratio of TiO2/SnO2=1.5 to 14 (by weight) and thereafter, the soln. is heated and is thereby hydrolyzed. The rutile type titanium oxide sol is thus obtd.
