    • Described herein are a method and a device (1) for determining the relative position of two elements (2,3) that are mobile with respect to one another, in which connected to a first element (3) is a source (4) of a field of forces like a magnet, and connected to a second element (2) is a meter (5), designed to measure the field of forces and to supply, instant by instant and as a function of the measurement made, a response identifying the relative position of the first element (3) with respect to the second element (2) at that instant, the meter (5) being provided with at least three field sensors (s1,s2,s3) arranged in respective distinct points (p1,p2,p3) of the second element (2), and the response being obtained by comparing with one another the outputs (x1,x2,x3) corresponding to that instant.
