    • A method of fabricating a liquid crystal display device includes: preparing a first substrate in which a plurality of first panels is formed; preparing a second substrate in which a plurality of second panels is formed; forming a seal pattern around an outer edge of the panel, the seal pattern defining an active region and a dummy region and having at one side a protruding portion extending to the dummy region; dropping liquid crystal more than the reference amount to the active region; bonding the first and second substrates together by the seal pattern; separating a plurality of liquid crystal panels by cutting the first and second substrates, the liquid crystal panels being formed by bonding the first and second panels; and removing surplus liquid crystal from the liquid crystal panel by pressurizing the liquid crystal panel. Accordingly, image quality deterioration due to an insufficient or excessive amount of provided liquid crystal is prevented by forming the protruding portion at the seal pattern and removing the surplus liquid crystal from the liquid crystal panel or providing liquid crystal through the protruding portion.

    • A liquid crystal display device is disclosed. The liquid crystal display device includes: a substrate; gate and data lines arranged to cross each other on the substrate and to define a pixel region; a switching element disposed at an intersection of the gate and data lines; and pixel electrodes and common electrodes arranged alternately with each other and parallel to the data line, within the pixel region. The pixel electrode and the common electrode are formed to have a stacked layer structure of a transparent conductive material layer and an opaque metal layer, each having a line-width of 3.5 μm or less. Such a liquid crystal display device can enhance the transmittance of a pixel region with preventing the chuck stain by forming electrodes in a double layer structure with a transparent conductive material layer and an opaque metal layer.

    • There is provided a distributed Bragg's reflector (DBR) comprising a substrate and an unit distributed Bragg's reflector (DBR) layer, wherein a multi-layer is laminated on the substrate. The unit DBR layer is composed of a multi-layer laminated structure of unit digital-alloy multinary compound semiconductor layer/multinary compound semiconductor layer or unit digital-alloy multinary compound semiconductor layer/unit digital-alloy multinary compound semiconductor layer. The unit digital-alloy multinary compound semiconductor layer is composed of the multi-layer laminated structure of the first layer of multinary compound semiconductor and the second layer of a different multinary compound semiconductor on said first layer. The digital-alloy distributed Bragg's reflector of the present invention has a uniform quality on the substance area and the filter and reflector having uniformly high quality can be mass produced by using the reflector.

    • An LCD device includes plurality of gate lines and data lines crossing each other to define pixel regions on a substrate. A thin film transistor (TFT) resides at a crossing portion of the gate lines and the data lines and a pixel electrode is electrically connected with the TFT. The TFT includes a gate electrode, a gate insulation layer on the gate electrode and a semiconductor layer on the gate insulation layer. A portion of the data line and the semiconductor layer form a composite layer between adjacent pixel electrodes in which a line width of data line is the same as a line width of semiconductor layer. A method of fabricating the LCD device includes etching a passivation layer using a mask pattern and etching the semiconductor layer using the mask pattern and a portion of the data line as an etch mask to form the composite layer.
