    • Disclosed is a core for use in a core-board, which consists of an embossed sheet of a light weight material comprising a central surface extending in a plane and a plurality of embossments called top and bottom cells, that are identical in shape and project from the central surface on both sides thereof. Each of the top and bottom cells is integral to the central surface and of pyramidal shape. Each of them also has an open base of regular hexagonal shape extending in the plane of this central surface and a top flat surface of regular hexagonal shape and of a smaller surface area than the base. These top and bottom cells are regularly distributed onto the central surface in such a manner that each top cell is not adjacent to another top cell but extends edge to edge to three spaced apart bottom cells, and each bottom cell is not adjacent to another bottom cell, but extends edge to edge to three spaced apart top cells. The core-board incorporating this core is particularly strong and resistant to compression, tear-out and shear forces. Moreover, anchors can be inserted in it at any desired location.

    • The horn housing may comprise an inner metal shell in the shape of a hexagonal box open at one end fitting into a similarly shaped outer dense solid box similarly open at one end. Space between the inner and the outer boxes being filled by a low density sound absorbing filler, and the inner box being connected to the outer box by vibration absorbing bolts. The outer box is mounted to a structure by vibration absorbing mounting brackets. When a high decibel horn or siren is mounted in the inner box to directed sound through the opening, most of the sound propagating sideways towards the structure is absorbed by the housing increasing the comfort level of passengers or crew inside the structure.

    • A tamper-proof device is provided for lockingly attaching a piece of equipment such as a TV set or a microwave oven to a support base. It has a pair of rigid plates that are respectively connected to the piece of equipment and the support base. One of the plates is surrounded by a flange which defines a closed area in which wedges are located to hook both plates together. The two plates are rigidly connected to each other by a screwable bolt that can be reached with a screw driver through a coaxial opening provided in the flange. A sleeve extends in between the head of the bolt and the opening. This sleeve can be closed by key-operated lock in order to prevent access to the bolt. The lock is free to rotate within the sleeve even when its latch is locked in outward position. Such prevents a theft from breaking the latch by forcing the lock into rotation in a cantilever fashion. A resilient plate is mounted within the closed area in such a manner as to extend radially close to the sleeve in order to contact the latch when the latch projects radially outwardly of the sleeve. This plate is resilient enough to let the latch flip over it if too much rotational force is applied to the lock within the sleeve.

    • A seat attachment assembly for use to attach a seat onto a vertical wall, preferably but not exclusively the wall of a locomotive driver's cab. The assembly comprises an elongated rail member that can be rigidly fixed in horizontal position onto the vertical wall. The assembly also comprises a seat carrier slidably mounted onto the rail member. The seat carrier comprises a seat-supporting member on which the seat is pivotably mounted about a vertical axis, and a set of supporting arms for mounting the seat-supporting member onto the rail member for horizontal displacement therealong. Rollers are mounted at the free ends of the arms. These rollers bear into the rail member and the vertical wall to vertically support the seat carrier and simultaneously hold the seat-supporting member in a cantilever manner at a given distance away from the vertical wall. Thanks to these rollers, horizontal adjustment of the seat along the vertical wall can easily be achieved without any physical effort.
