摘要： A set of distal femoral knee prostheses which are designed to be more narrow in medial/lateral dimensions with increasing anterior/posterior size than existing prostheses to more closely correspond to the physical anatomy of female patients. The prostheses are designed to have a substantially trapezoidal shape or profile when viewed distally which features a more pronounced narrowing of the medial/lateral dimensions beginning at the posterior end of the prostheses and progressing anteriorly to the anterior end of the prostheses. Additionally, the prostheses each include a reduced profile patellar sulcus and reduced profile anterior condyles to more closely conform to the anatomy of a resected femur, and also include sulcus tracking optimized to conform to female anatomy.

An open mesh sheet of material is applied to a mold surface and plastic applied to the mold surface and to the back side of the open mesh material. The plastic forms a shell that is then removed from the mold with the open mesh material at least partially embedded in the surface of the shell. The shell then may be used as a trim panel that includes the aesthetic and functional features of the open mesh material.

摘要： A discrete air bag tear seam is provided in the finishing cover of an interior component of an automotive vehicle. An applique installed on the cover has an elongated external decorator head concealing the tear seam. Elongated and laterally spaced retention flanges of the applique stabilize and releasably retain the cover at the tear seam. The applique is secured to a fixed retainer part of the component and operates by releasing the cover at the tear seam to form an air bag door in response to the forced outward movement of an underlying door substrate on air bag deployment. The underlying door substrate exerts a force on the cover and particularly the outer skin thereof and causes it to pull away from the applique starting at the concealed tear seam to establish an opening for improved air bag deployment.

The substrate includes an air bag opening that is closed by a door. The door has a hinged end that is clamped to the substrate by a frame that is beneath the substrate, a reinforcement bar that is above the substrate and a plurality of fasteners that force the frame and reinforcement bar toward each other. An air bag canister is attached to the frame beneath the air bag opening of the substrate and the frame is attached to automotive body structure so that the substrate is isolated from the reaction forces of the canister when an air bag housed in the canister inflates and pushes the door through the instrument panel covering.
