    • A truck bed divider apparatus for use with a bed of a pickup truck or other cargo carrying bed of a motor vehicle. The apparatus includes one or more divider assemblies that may be lowered into an operative position to restrain the movement of smaller cargo items being carried in the bed. The divider assembly may also be moved into a raised position thereby allowing the full volume of the cargo area to be used if needed. A plurality of movable screens are incorporated in the divider assembly that allow very long cargo items to be accommodated even while the divider assembly is in its lowered position. The pivot assemblies can also be moved and positioned as needed along a pair of support rails disposed on opposing sidewalls of the cargo bed to better restrain articles of various shapes and sizes.

    • A lockable clamping system for use in securing photovoltaic (PV) panels to a frame rail component, wherein the frame rail component includes structure for engaging with a portion of the lockable clamping system. The lockable clamping system may have a clamp member having a body portion, with the body portion having a bore. A fastener may be operatively coupled to the clamp member and may extend through the bore in the clamp member generally perpendicular to the clamp member. The fastener may have a head portion having a key shaped recess, the key shaped recess configured to allow rotation of the fastener only via predetermined security key shaped to engage with the key shaped recess. The clamp member and the fastener may cooperatively operate to clamp adjacently positioned edges of a pair of PV panels to the frame rail component by engagement of a portion of the fastener with a portion of the frame rail component, while rotation of the clamp member is inhibited except through the use of the predetermined security key.

    • A bed extender apparatus adapted for use with a pickup truck bed to functionally enlarge the useable cargo area within the truck bed when a tailgate is in a lowered position. The bed extender includes a center wall which is pivotably mounted to an inner surface of the tailgate, and which can be pivoted into an upright position once the tailgate is moved into a lowered position. A pair of end walls are pivotably secured to opposite ends of the center wall. Each end wall can be pivoted out to a position extending perpendicular to the center wall once the center wall is in its raised or operative position. Each of the end walls can then be secured to an associated one of the vertical walls of the pickup truck bed. A principal advantage of the bed extender is that the end walls and center wall each include a plurality of members which, when the end walls are folded against the center wall, form an extremely compact arrangement which takes up virtually no appreciable cargo space within the pickup truck bed. The bed extender also forms an extremely aerodynamically efficient structure when in use.

When the cross bars are in the stowed position, the apparatus presents a significantly more aerodynamic structure that helps to reduce wind noise when the vehicle on which the apparatus is mounted is being driven. The cross bars can be quickly moved into the operative position via a latching mechanism disposed at end that can be released from a securing portion of one side rail and re-attached to a securing portion of the other side rail. Various embodiments are presented with different latching and pivoting mechanisms.

Each support rail may have at least one structural feature in a wall portion thereof. At least one cross bar having a pair of end supports may be supported on the support rails. At least one of the end supports may have a pivotally mounted locking lever and a pivotally mounted locking member operatively coupled together. The locking member may have an element adapted to engage the at least one structural feature in the support rail. Structure associated with each of the locking lever, a housing of the end support, and the locking member cooperate to prevent the locking lever from being moved into a seated position in a recess of the housing if the end support is not aligned with the structural feature in the support rail.
