    • A motor whose torque is not generated by magnetic fields but rather by dielectric forces to be used in microelectronics and micromechanics. The rotors are composed of several dielectrics, which are arranged in a sector-shaped or shell-shaped manner or partially or completely envelop each other. These motors can be miniaturized down to a size of a few millimeters. They are distinguished by having slow to medium rotation speeds, short starting phases (ms range and less), extremely low current consumption, simple construction, high running constancy and being practically maintenance free. The characteristic curve of rotation (rotation as the function of the field frequency) may be selected in many ranges by changing the dielectrics of the rotor.

    • The invention relates to a power supply unit with an inverter which co-operates with a resonant circuit (L, C) and can be controlled so as to adjust the output power by means of a control unit (6). The power supply unit is characterized notably by the fact that it is formed by a first and a second switching unit (S1, S4; S2, S3) whereby a voltage of a first polarity can be applied to the resonant circuit (L, C) in a first switching state and a voltage of a second polarity can be applied thereto in a second switching state, the switching states being switchable by the control unit (6) in such a manner that in a first mode of operation for low output powers the output power can be adjusted by changing the duration of the switching states at an essentially constant switching frequency fs which is at least a predetermined factor lower than the resonance frequency fres of the resonant circuit, and that in a second mode of operation for high output powers the output power can be adjusted by changing the switching frequency in the range of the resonance frequency.

    • A bicycle is described which has a frame at least consisting of a forward frame part with a steering device for a front wheel and a rearward frame part with a rear wheel, the connection between the forward and the rearward frame part consisting at least of a turning knuckle which can be swivelled about a transverse axis of the bicycle. The transverse axis is congruent with a bottom bracket bearing axis. The steering device consists at least of a fork carrying the front wheel and consisting of two fork tubes and a fork bridge, of a handle bar and of a steering tube connecting the handle bar and the fork bridge. The fork bridge is designed such that an offset between the longitudinal axes of the fork tubes and the longitudinal axis of the steering tube exists in the longitudinal direction of the bicycle in a position of the steering device for straight-ahead riding. This has the effect that, at an angle of lock of the steering device of ninety degrees, a distance exists between the fork tubes and a bicycle center plane which permits the swivelling-along of the rear wheel during the swivelling of the rearward frame part about the transverse axis, without any contact with the fork tubes.

    • A circuit arrangement comprises an inverter with two parallel switching branches which are connected to a DC voltage source and each of which comprises two series-connected switching members, each of which comprises at least one switch and an anti-parallel connected diode. A switching member in one switching branch each time constitutes a diagonal pair in conjunction with a switching member in the other switching branch. A load with a given polarity is connectable to a DC voltage source via the diagonal pair. The voltage on the load temporarily becomes zero upon the change-over from one polarity to the other. A control circuit is provided for opening and closing the switches in a manner such that the switching members are successively switched on and off. The switching members are more uniformly stressed because the control circuit is constructed so that all of the switching members are successively switched on as the second switching member in their diagonal pair or all of the switching members are successively switched off as the second switching member in their diagonal pair.
