    • The invention relates to a method to regulate a circulating air and/or intake air portion (V s , V o ) in a passenger compartment of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, with a sensor for detecting hazardous gas concentrations in the passenger compartment and for supplying a triggering signal ( 1 CO2 ) of a control unit for the circulating air and/or intake air portion (V s , V o ) in a passenger compartment. To achieve air supply in a passenger compartment that does justice to demand and is optimized with respect to energy consumption, the sensor for detecting hazardous gas concentrations is a temperature-compensated sensor, whereby the sensor for detecting the ambient temperature along with the sensor for detecting the hazardous gas concentration supply signals ( 1 t , 1 CO2 ) for triggering a control unit for the circulating air and/or intake air portion (V s , V o ). The control unit controls either the size of the circulating air portion (V s ) in the passenger compartment or switches from complete circulating air operation to complete intake air cooperation and vice versa.

    • The invention relates to a sensor module, in particular for an air conditioning system, preferably a vehicle air conditioning system, comprising at least the following: a housing (2), a humidity sensor (4), a temperature sensor (3), and an infra-red optical gas sensor (5) for measuring at least one gas concentration, the temperature sensor (3), humidity sensor (4) and infra-red gas sensor (5) being located in the housing (2). The invention provides a compact sensor module (1), which is cost-effective to produce and permits an autonomous switch between an exhaust air mode and a circulating air mode. Preferably, the sensor module also comprises an evaluation unit (6), which receives the signals of the sensors and which is preferably also located in the housing. In addition, one or more gas sensors (8) for detecting additional gas components, in particular nitrogen oxides, and a pressure sensor (9) are preferably located in the housing (2), said sensors being read by the common evaluation unit, which is preferably an ASIC (6).
